Got thinking about the elites and Grunts. grunts dont have energy shields wile elites do. elites are just as easy to kill when they dont have shields so i was wondering if someone can create a grunt wearing elite style armor with energy shileds. all of the kinds has changed in armor but not grunts. like there being rasist about there size. NO WONDER THE COVENANT FAILED. TOO POSITIVE ABOUT THERE POWER THAT... ooo i got another idea. A hunter with energy shields. but anyway, even bruits have energy shields of some sort in halo 3. wile the grunts only have the same old back packs. and i know many will say just mod it with gurrilla. but i mean acturaly giving the grunts a new look so it more... non rasist to little beings. (quote: im 6' 2") lol if anyone sees why i posted this...part.

You do know the Grunts do have very weak energy shields, right? But to answer your question: yes.

I've got a shielded Grunt. Still working out the kinks though. The model isn't edited either.

Grunts don't have energy shields because they aren't worth it. The Covenant has a few billion grunts, which aren't really good in combat, so they're mostly used as cannon fodder. Edited by Bokito on Mar 27, 2009 at 05:10 AM

but still, if they wanted to win that badly, they should at least make the grunts more useful

Actually, the Covenant should have given the hunters energy shielding to protect their orangeish parts.....
Also, grunts have about a quarter of the health elites have when unshielded.

Reasons why the Covenant didn't have all units with energy shields: -Grunts are cannon fodder and are considered weaklings. Waste of resources to them. -Size matters. -The creature has to be able to support it. -Brutes and Elites have it because they are high enough in the Covenant change to be rewarded with deflective devices. -Hunters are already pumped enough, not to mention the armor they where is welded metal, not a combat suit.

If the grunt falls off, the hunter would just crush it's brains, since it's the lowest in the caste system, much like the Jackal on Sigma Octanus IV. That would be more interesting.

How about we think about how hard it is to keep a grunt on top of a hunter, while both act independently?

A Grunt on top of a hunter, grunt falls off, stumbles off of cliff, dies horribly. End of story.

Actually brutes have power armor, and the shields are only focused on the armor pieces.
