A mapping team that makes good looking Halo maps WAHHHH? Seriously though, you guys have a lot of good work and talent, and from what you have shown I'm very excited. I know your focusing on Downfall right now, but I was just wondering what are some of the BSPs ideas that you guys are working on. Also, could you by any chance make a video showing off Grifball?

Im in charge of the GrifBall department. We wont show anything by now except those GB weapon renders in the first page, but dont worry, we will make a thread and probably a tournament when everything is visualy more pretty (aka everything needs skinning) and when some bugs get fixed.

If your making individual maps for the grifball game are you making it built into the map, or are you making a new variant that can be imported into other maps that could support it into the future?

It will have a game variant that will come included into the zip file when you download the maps, but due to CE things (and lack of assault variants and others) it has to been built in the map, so you will have to play in these special grifball maps if you want to play grifball.

ok so we will load the "grifball" map and then play with the "grifball" variant or else it wont work right?

Thats correct. Our maps will be the only griffball maps compatible with it.

yes, even tho i made it compatible enough so you can still play grifball without the variant...it wont be as good though, so in other words, play with the variant!

Do you plan on releasing how to make a "grifball" map, so that others could make their own?

That is up to Arbiter. Thats his department. I believe I can speak for all of us when I saw the development of griffball isn't far enough to answer questions like that though.

indeed, but maybe i would consider making a tut or something when we stop making grifball maps, or when we run out of fun concepts for courts lol...that wont be any soon tho

Uh, what's Griffball?

" Grifball is an extremely fast paced sport game type that's played on an open court between two teams of four players. Each team has a goal and each player carries a gravity hammer and an energy sword. In the center of the arena is a single ball that can be picked up by anyone on the field. Each match consists of 5 rounds, with each round ending when someone slams the ball into their opponent's goal. The team with the most goals wins.

It's a very simple game by design, but it's an enormous amount of non-stop action. At any point in time, you are either on defense with your 3 teammates guarding your goal or you are on offense as the ball carrier with three blockers. In a second, the game can turn and you have to be ready to seamlessly change roles. "

heres the official halo3 grifball site...it includes a video

It's just an interesting game varient that we all enjoyed, so we decided to make a CE version of it.

exactly, by that, it offers more than 2 courts (halo 3 only has foundry and zanzibar)...we can make any court we want, in the place and time we want.

The first court we will release will be in a forerunner structure in the icey installation 02. But for now no pics :)

E: I take it they don't use damage_effects?

it had something to do with 3p animations. arby and i figured it out like... last summer. i cant remember exactly what we did though. i dont think it required any scripting though

The impossible is just relative, and this one is made out of things i know that can be moved together, i give it a 95% of working perfectly, so have faith.
