Hey! This is a new method that I am testing. It includes high res cubemap and skies to meet today's HD demands. Seeing that this map uses a lot of 32 bit colors, I need to see how it runs on other people's systems. Download and test this map. Then post your CPU, GPU, RAM, and frames per second. Then you can tell me what you think of the new method. The lightmaps were calcuated using a HDR image based on the same image the sky uses.
Download the map here.
http://www.filedropper.com/cubemaptest
5MB download. 28MB map
Here are some pictures.

Yes its a small map but this is mainly for opinions. Have fun!

I will be hosting a server called "Halo HD testing" for users to join.

your GPU is your graphic card. Your frames per second can be found using fraps or by typing in "rasterizer_fps" in console.

What's the resolution of the cubemaps themselves? I'm curious :3

I'm also curious as to how you got the sun to be a different color. All I've ever managed to do was change its shape :(

Actually. The color around the sun is inside the sky bitmap. The map is unprotected so I give everyone permission to use my content as they please. The sky and its settings are completely custom. As well as the left flare.
