Thanks gamma. I knew that.. its just if people are going to try to make the map Exactly like halo 3 (Which i understand is impossible) They should at least make the easy stuff like textures like it first... But any ways Jesse it okks really nice anyways. I wan just saying :P

The sand could use a ground map.

Then 2 different detail maps to differ.

If i recall correctly, i spent no more than 30 min on that sniper skin after doan did some fake bumps and bad metal detail. But then again that was over a year ago.

speaking of which, made some small changes to the skin for the better

Add this with yelo, and bloom. Then it will look like Halo 3.

Mesh between hexagon faces too this. Try beveling the hexagons a bit but keeping the same smoothing group. Also, add a opacity map that make the area between hexagons a little less see-through.

Also, I think that the big tower in the background has SOME kinda of texture. Contact me if you need help with it.

I don't think you understand how the bubble shield works, there is no opacity map.
unless you add another bubble with that pattern on it's texture but make that transparent without refraction...
but yes, it's all in the rastarizer data, mine is different than jesse's.


And yea, I did fix the height a little afterwards, after measuring it ingame and drawing vectors i've noticed it's a bit higher than the dispencer head, seems you guys were right afterall, but it still has to be at dispencer head height, which i fixed

I think this is going to be one of the most accurate halo 3 copies. I wish he would do some more maps though :(. I hope he changes his mind, instead of leaving, he will stay to do more h3 maps.

it fits a warthog, and is the same size as halo 3 beta, how can it be too small? =/

hexagons pattern, as you can see in the wireframe, it's not really practical to edit the model anymore, i'm going to try a few things to make border refraction stronger than the centres, but that's all i can do, not that it's too hard to remake it but meh



In Sandtrap you're not gonna see it any better aswell, since it's all the same yellow colour as the bubble shield is... i'm gonna experiment a bit more to let the pattern come out more

....not like chokingvictem did, he didnt smooth it at all to let it look decent

Halo 3 beta? wow. Its different size from H3B to H3R

Also it shouldnt go into Sandtrap since its unreasonably high poly. And just ruin the quality in the map for people with not good graphics card.
