because although you can walk faster than it, keeping with it would mean your speed is slowed considerably, you have to continuously walk, and it would be nigh impossible to dart around from position to position for tactical advantages. And it would ruin the feel.

And to top that off, why not? It wouldn't make it look anything different, and all it does is add good things to the map experience, not take anything away from it.

Think about it. Your speed walking on the elephant would be your speed minus the speed the elephant is traveling at (if it's moving forwards). It would be harder to move around, and you would be a sitting duck for snipers.

it wont work the same as it works in halo 3
the best option would be give a h3 feel is to out it in the bsp

then it isnt mobile

but idk if grunt is going to do that

Oh, thought you said you will unwrap. Like I said before though, its edited, I fixed most, if not all, of the tool errors.

There is no good way to have the elephant move like it does in Halo 3. All of the ways i've seen it done aren't perfect.

This is Halo 1, not Halo 3. Just make it like a base, as to keep it kind of the same.

Halo 1/CE does not use the same physics engine as Halo 2 or 3. You can not stand or walk on vehicles in multiplayer levels in Halo 1/CE becasue of the physics engine. not saying that device_machines have to sync. What I'm saying is attach the device_machine to the vehicle. I know the object_attach does work...

Just make it a base? That dramatically changes the way you play the map, as the elephant is the stand-alone gameplay element that keeps the battle in motion as well as entertaining and fun. Most of the carnage occurs in the gap between the two structures built into the sand, with the elephants normally crashing there and serving as a main spawn point for it's respective team. Taking it away completely destroys the gameplay, as now both teams must now walk to get to the battle, or take an indestructible warthog/chopper to get back to the fight. The pace becomes slower, and eventually, boring.

Why why?! Why can't you just make it a vehicle and then add some seats to it and make it a bit custom, I know it is suppose to be like halo 3, but it doesn't have to be an exact remake.So can we please make a decision soon?!

ok now see that video was of the host. ok i'm sure alot of you played that area map w/ the terminal or that new rpg map w/ the elvator. the host is the one running fine but everyone else is not syncing. so there fore it is physicaly impossible to make anything sync in CE unless you go bug gearbox/microsoft/bungie for an update of syncing, but trust me i've tried that. so there fore the only way to do this is make the elephant have seats/turets or the player will die.

on the other hand does the elphant look like that one in the vid or halo 3 grunt?
