I was thinking about making a covenant shotgun any ideas on what it should look like and what it should shoot? I'm really bored right now so im going to try and start modeling now.

lol anyways there's a lot of human weapon tags on halomaps and im trying to make some covenant weapons to upload to halomaps i need some help on deciding what it should look like and what it should shoot lol

It should shoot something similar to needle shards.

Here would be my idea on it.
The needles come in packs similar to the needler ammo packs... whatever... make em red or green, just not the same pink. Has to be a reason the guns can't use the same ammo, at least visually. There should be this area that one can open up and the needles are shoved into it, similar to the needler, but don't have them appear at the top, or anything. All this gun does is it splits the crystals into chunks that are simply blasted out by... some force. Maybe gravitational force... but that would be a gauss cannon. The shards stick into flesh, maybe bounce off walls once (only if the angle is close enough to parallel) and explode (small) upon sticking.

8 shots per crystal, overall damage should be a bit MORE than a regular shotgun. More damage per second with no reload, but with reload it should be the same (Halo's shotgun is bugged so that you can continuously fire until you are out of ammo completely... this one wouldn't)

As for what it looks like, I dunno...
I never heard of a covenant shotgun. I think it's a unique idea and do not see why not.

Speaking of shotguns... after my map, I might go and try to make a lever action one like in Marathon. :) (The type of level action shotgun it is allows one to reload the gun with a twirling motion like a winchester rifle... oh yes, this would be for HCE, not a real one :P)[/offtopic]

You could call it the mauler. It could have a clip of 5 shots instead of shells, and a powerful melee. also, make it hold a maximum of 20 shots.

.. He means like a shotgun that shoots plasma you know. An elite styled shotgun.

nah the one that Enzo03 described was actually a good idea so im going to use what he said but could someone draw a concept on what it should look like? because i suck at drawing big time ......lol but i might make it look something similar to a covenant carbine though

Anyway, if you make a covenant shotgun, don't use needles, please. Be creative.

I've always liked the idea of a covvie shotgun. And enzo's idea really is the best... Because realisticly speaking a plasma shotgun wouldnt be possible unless the barrel was split into several smaller barrels. or else youd just have a huger lump of plasma known as a feul rod.

a covenant fuel rod, is a solid. but when fired. it heats up. causing it to turn into liquid plasma

well i dont really have an imagination lol but anyway the reason why i was going to use needles is because i dont think plasma would be good for a covie shotgun because one it would look fugly .....lol but anyway what do you guys think it shouls shoot? obviously not plasma but something else its just i dont know what though

It has 5 blasts, the blasts are faster than the human shotgun, but less powerful.

once 5 blasts have been rapidly fired then it would overheat,
about as long as a plasma rifle.

it would have a covie look to it... perhaps be red...

i made a covenant shotgun a long time ago. it was utter fail. im liking the needle idea though.

Im thinking a gun that charges up like the plasma rifle. Normal shot shoots 1 projectile like the partical beam. Charged shot shoots many partical beams

ok guys ill try to make it tonight i should have an alpha when i get back from vegas since im visiting my mom right now but anyway like i said i should have an alpha versioin of it or atleast a model of it by the time i get back and i should be back somewhere around next month because im going to be very busywithin the next month.

This is what happens when a male shotgun and a female plasma rifle mate.

No, this is what happens when someone fails to model so just edits bungies model and uses the symmetry modifyer on the shotgun with a small modification and just adds the plasma rifle in the middle, hopeing to earn reputation that he does not deserve for this pile of dirt.
