no really, stop. i want a shotgun that is covenant with a red theme, like the brute plasma rifle, but a shotgun....... ideas are coming........

Anyway, maybe it can fire a red pulse of lght, that inflicts the same damage as the shotgun, except like all covenant weapons, more damage to shields, less to health.

i was thinking like..... the carbine is different than the br. br is 3 shots, carbine is 1 but faster. so mb the shotgun will have overheat, but have a standard fire like the plasma pistol, but maybe 3 shots. then as you charge it, more shots come out, or something like that. ill sleep on the idea and come back tomorrow with the rest of it

Lets think of what makes a shotgun, a shotgun.

Then apply it to covenant standards and technology, and try to think of something...

Make a gun like the shotgun but more round. It shoots like the regular shotgun would, but plasma. After that one shot it overheats. takes 3 seconds to unheat. Has 8 shots.

It should do more shield damage, less health damage, not be a one-hit kill, but it can fire at longer ranges and travel slower, like any other covie weapon.

No because than it wont be a shotgun but that was the original plan though its going to have the same animations as the Human shotgun because i cant animate for crap

no he shot fusion coils with a sniper rifle, blowing up the coils. causing the cones near it to fly towards him and kill him

I sure hope the guy that is making this shotgun will make it better than the human shotgun on halo1. That shotgun sucks, its like you have to be 2 feet away to actually hit the guy your shooting. you have to make the shotgun shot needles or some that will explode on impact. Or the shotgun is useless. or I always wanted a shotgun on halo that shoots a slug, yeah that would be nice.

unless its brute the covenat wouldnt use slugs theyd use the needles or plasma wich i think needles have already been decided tho if they still home in on the target then its gunna be extremely over powered

Well if you could get the needles to go faster and not follow the target then you could make it like a slug.

really, everyone uses needles? care to back that statement up with something? the only needle guns i have seen are that map needleocity, the needle rifle, and the needle grenade. btw, thats 2 weapons and one map out of like 50 human weapons

Needles would be better than plasma. The gun could shatter the crystal and shoot little needles at the enemy, kinda like the human shotgun.

Besides, needles belong to the needler, and not a shotgun :/

we have one needle weapon. that is the needler. a needle shotgun would make so much sense. needles would make a good shotgun weapon based on their properties. go read the halo book: the flood, and see what they say about needlers. perfect shotgun spread weapon

Egg, why are you saying there shouldn't be any more needle weapons? You made a needle nade. And plasma wouldn't work well for a shotty.

think of the technical aspect of a needle shotgun vs a plasma shotgun. there is no way in hell a plasma shotgun that follows the rules of plasma will be able to be balanced. it would drop shields and stun to the point that people will just drop dead. a needle shotgun would fire mini red needles (my own brainstorming, doesnt have to be like that) that would have a slight bit of tracking to them and dot he same damage as the needler, and require 7 needles to explode. is this unbalanced? well, a needler explosion wont kill someone, and a normal shotgun kills in one shot up close, so you do the math

Ok so I was bored, and made a shotgun that shot needles.

With the regular 10 round burst, the shotgun can kill in about 5 shots. So that would mean that you could have it shoot 10 round bursts, and have 5 shots, or lower the amount or bursts and up the shots to 8. I will make a simple model, change the projectile and color, and do some tweeking with everything. Then post a video or something.

lol i though that i would make one lol........ but anyway since i dont have halo CE over here in vegas i cant make anything except model so the only thing i can make is the model and thats about it ..... lol

i think the covenant shotgun should shoot needle studs that don't explode, but have a poison effect, eating away your health slowly.

Well when you make the shoty shoot needles remember to make the needles go faster because anyone can make the needles run into a wall or some thing so that it wont hit them. that is why I never use the needler on halo it is pretty much pointless.

Which is why you attack them in close quarters, and don't let them run away. Make them take the pink mist like a man! Then they blow up.

Ok noob if you want to die than you take it like a noob not knowing what to do when being shot by extremely slow needles coming at you. even in close range it still is a crappy weapon, I'm glad bunjie fixed it in the 2 halo.

Anyway, I feel it is fine, they don't go that slow.
