I'm sure some of you may have already seen some of this, but I found some stuff at Bungie.net that I thought was pretty helpful.

These are some powerpoint/PDF files from bungie.net that explain how they create their single player maps and environments and what goes into it to make a fun. challenging level.

Environment Design In Halo 3:
Quote: This session will describe the mission development pipeline and process for HALO 3. It will show how roles and responsibilities were delineated, give an overview of some of Bungie's thinking about space design as it relates to gameplay, and demonstrate the iterative process for making a game environment beautiful.

To view these You'll need either Microsoft Powerpoint or Powerpoint viwer, which can be downloaded here:

Halo 3 Flood Alien Level Autopsy:
Quote: This session examines Flood biology, the creation of Flood environments and discusses the artistic iteration on Flood-infected visuals which were prototyped during Halo 2's development and realized during Halo 3.

I learned a few interesting things about how Bungie makes their levels and How their environments are Created So I thought id share it with you guys. It also shows some of the original concept art from halo 3 which I thought was pretty cool.

This is the page I found it on if you would like to view any more of these, not necessarily related to level creation, but still pretty interesting:

To view these you'll need either Microsoft Powerpoint or Powerpoint Viewer, which can be downloaded here:

I wish my hacked psp could open powerpoints

If only it where a Office Excel file, huh?.. then you could open it in the spread sheet app.

Anyways, download it, open it at school, install one of those jpg printer things so that when you hit print, it makes you a whole bunch of jpgs to put on your PSP and view as pictures.

Remember, he isn't at school, he is out of town with no computers around.

And it is called Bungie Publications, not whatever you said.

When did he say he was out of town, or even the fact if his school year was over or not? he said he couldnt use his computer and was left with his PSP. Anyways, download the flood thingy on your PSP, unzip it in IRshell; there is a PDF in there.. use IRshell to open the PDF. Idk if the other thing has a PDF aswell.

And what did I call it?.. I never said anything about what its called, I said he could get it as jpegs at school using a virtual printer.
