==========================================================

Well guys don’t say I never did anything for you. I have arranged for you to be part of the beta test team for a new website for the gaming community. This test is so you can make suggestions find errors and generally debug and shape what I believe will become a booming place for PC gamers.

Lol when entering the code guys the letters appear in All caps but for it to accept it type it all in lower case. I guess it is case sensitive.

Intersting. Is this a site of your own idea or something from your company?

This is a site we have put together as a proof of concept for a client, which is why it is being beta tested live with you guys and also why it may have issues and may be missing some features. More than that I can not say, but I think it is a cool idea.

please reports bugs and or features in the PCGameShots forum.

This site looks awesome. I think I'm going to join.

Question: Are game shots allowed from different games other than the ones listed on the site?

Dennis have you thought of doing small video clips? Like 15 second long at most?

So, weapon animation videos?
Edit: Wait no, can't you just do that .GIF or something? Those pictures that can move, I'm not familiar with picture formats and so on.
Edit: Changed it to .GIF

No, I think it will do very well. Dennis already has a big community and people can trust the sites. So I think it will be a nice addition.

Dennis you said this is for a client. So does that mean you won't be the moderator and you are just desighning it and then handing it over to your client? How does that work?

Also I think this site is worthless, dont take it the wrong way dennis but people enjoy Videos WAY more than pics.

All you opinions are valid and we want them but they will be meanless unless you post them in the correct forum. Please post bugs, comments, opinions, features requests and discussion about it in the PC Game Shots forum

Kiwi might have made a mistake somewhere in the email address, checking the bulk folder was the first thing he did. So now Kiwi can either wait two days for the name to clear up or make a different one.

Months and most likely no unless the client decides not to proceed with the project.

As I said this is a proof of concept. I told them I knew a group of people who play PC games and want nothing more than to BETA test things. I convinced them that you guys would give honest feedback, offer suggestions, help find bugs and have strong opinions on what they like or dislike and would want to see. Please do not make me wrong. This is a chance to have a positive impact on the development of new website.

Smart fella... yes it is.

BTW: Thanks for sending me the image. I believe we found the problem, but the solution may not be as easy.

Update summary from PC Game Shots forum threads:

Numerous bugs have been squashed and some existing security measures were tightened, in a couple of places we found that will need better explanations and received a few suggestions for improvements. The following are the current suggestions for new/updated features you think should be added to the PCGameShots website http://www.pcgameshots.com/

  • Private Message System

  • Abbuse Reporting System

  • Web Forum

  • Allow user to Hide time

  • show when a user was last on.

  • alows Users to leave Comments for each image

  • Tags system for searching

  • Allow animated avatars and don't resize them

  • Random picture of the day

  • Video Hosting - not a feature in consideration

Over all this has been the most pitiful beta test group I have ever worked with. Now I know why no one will let you guys beta test their maps. The feedback was lacking and only a couple of you tried all the features. I am sorely let down. With all this talk of beta test this and beta test that and “I wanna beta tester” I figured you would be up to the challenge.

Can I assume that if we added the list of features above then the website would be 100% perfect? I doubt it. Not one of you complained about the ability to sort by date ascending or descending, by user or within sections. No one complained about the profile layout information, no one suggested a gamer blog and no one suggested a hide profile option. Did anyone check the various instant messaging options to see if they worked?

Come on guys I told my client you would give the site a good look over and immediately find 20 to 30 things that were missing. All you found was 10.

What features would make you want to use the website on a regular basis?

And if you wanted us to try and break the site, why didnt you just say so? :P

Also, it could use a bulk uploader,
The "break the site" I am not so worred about those things will be found in due course but am interested in features that would make you want to use it more often.

Bulk uploading is one I forgot to meantion.

When you go to rate a picture, there should be a different down state of the button then the up state. I didnt know if it was rated or not. That or a nice little message that says ("The image has been rated")
never mind, there is one

Kind of like a "User Rating" thing. If the user uploads a lot of pics and they get good ratings then the user gets a high rating.

Spot for placing Computer specs, like the one on the H2v forums
Reputation system.
Signatures.
If youre using the same forum software, fix that blank topic, or extra page glitch.
Search feature.
Get rid of the log in button, if youre logged in.
The featured stuff should be bigger.
The top bar does not go across the whole screen.
I guess thats about all I can come up with right now.

I am genuinely curious about one particular item in your list:

Quote: Get rid of the log in button, if youre logged in.
Do you mean the login option in the main top menu? I ask because what if you are using a shared PC - you and your brothers - (and you didn’t want to mess with his account) and wanted to login to your account. Would you prefer to have to logout lthen og back in again or just click login to visit the login page and login to your account? I ask because a couple of people have mentioned some confusion over this feature and I am not sure if I fully understand why.
