We're making a model of a 1999 Toyota Avalon for use in Halo and it's pretty detailed with an interior.
GRUNTS and I need someone willing to texture it. Serious inquiries only please. Message either grunts7 or guardian2433 on Xfire asking for help. I have pics of what the car should look like from a real Avalon and also textures and grunts has the model.
Please help get this in-game. It's a 5 seater with 1 extra awkward seat on the sunroof for a hanging gunner.

123 polygons? So I guess all of you guys could make something with 1230 polygons, and then sell it for $250?

LOL Who would pay for models...
Media Type: 3D Models Published: Jul 21, 2006 Geometry: Polygonal Polygons: 123 Vertices: 88 Textures: Yes Materials: No Jointed: No Animated: No
There even are some that cost over 200$.... Regular users would NEVER pay 25$ for an horrible car model And companies wouldn't pay 200 for a model they could easily make.
Especially for a game such as Halo that requires alot of rules to be followed...

Lol, all that is is a box with textures. I could make that better then they can and I can't even make vehicles.

The one we modeled blows it out of the water. I saw those models before you guys posted it and yeah they suck. I'll try and post some pictures of what we have. They aren't textured but they'll work. It's a clay model render. OK here are some clay renders of the car. Sorry if they don't look as good as you might like but these are clay renders, not textured pictures of a model. I think the one on turbosquid is better because that one is more accurate. Even if it is practically a box its accurate. Yours looks as if you never seen a car before. Just look at where the mirros are placed. Look at the doors. You have parts that waste polies. And then some places that lack the detail. Like look at the steering wheel. There is just a flat body. And look at the errors. Fix the smoothing. I don't think this si close to getting textured. Needs a lot more work before you start skinning.

Yeah I'm going to get some pics of the exterior of the car soon. I think you're right on some levels. It could be a little better. But you gotta admit for someone that models mainly weapons he's trying his best. He did do this soda machine that's in my map now. Take a look at these. Are these any good for vending machines? you know what would be pure win? making that a device that vends soda when you press E near it. you would get my download for that also that little thing that says insert $1.00, if you made the bitmap scroll, i would love it even more. but duce has a good point, it really does not look like a working vending machine Edited by Donut on Mar 5, 2008 at 04:43 PM

Thank you so much for taking an interest in my idea. It feels good to know that people are interested in something like this even though the model itself needs work. Thank you for the pic reference of the Avalon. I hope this and others like it will help with modeling.
Now for a tough question. Would anyone be willing to help do this model with us? I'm looking for a low poly, high quality model. The reason we put that much detail into the interior is because we wanted it to look professional, like gauges on the dash, stereo in the dash, cupholders, etc. etc.. The Warthog has a lot of detail inside and out so I figured, "Why not?"
Please help me model the car. I had GRUNTS do it because, to be honest, I have bad eyesight and cannot model at all right now. I'm going to try to learn regardless of how bad my vision is but right now I can do nothing but direct ideas towards others.

Here are some more pics of stuff GRUNTS made. This is a new sniper rifle, the NTW-20. First, the model of the real rifle, which isn't finished yet. And here's the PSG-1 we made for Blood Creek. Edited by Rambo on Mar 7, 2008 at 05:26 PM Edited by Rambo on Mar 7, 2008 at 05:33 PM

This thread inspired me to work more on a car im doing. Just thought I'd post a pic, as a suggestion of how to go about it It's alot easier working on half of it, then mirroring it later. Figure out the interior later (but save your interior, it's a good start) Import the warthog for a reference using the gbxmodel importer http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=1972
