We don't use ripped content. We do want to redo Grunts and hunters, Hunters will probably be taking the priority though.

Who made the plasma pistol?

I don't know why but I keep thinking that the CMT plasma pistol uses the Reach model.

Hunters aren't as common as Grunts,though.

Ironic considering grunts are the most common enemy unit in Halo. I would've thought they'd take priority over the least encountered enemy (hunters). But seeing as they'll both probably get done eventually, I guess order doesn't matter.

There's nothing really wrong with the Halo 1 grunts if you think about it. They all look very similar to the grunts seen in the newer games. Just make some normals/spec maps for them and i'd call it good. However there is nothing wrong with taking a step forward with a complete overhaul.

of course there's nothing wrong with the halo 1 grunts, however alongside all the newer high definition covenant they just look so out of place


If cmt remade the grunts and made them look like halo 1's, just with better visual aesthetics (better models, higher res textures) like the other covenant, I'd think it'd look great.

Not likely. I'm trying to get some weapon videos out. But it's taking longer than expected to get everything looking nice.

Let's see... you encounter thousands of Grunts throughout the game and maybe like 10 hunters total. Good job deciding that the Hunters are more important. No, really, good job.

campaign will not be released any sooner by switching priorities from Hunters to Grunts

and they will both get done regardless

Nah, don't worry about it. I got this:



It's a little earlier than I wanted to show off, usually I try to wait until everything is done and final in the texture before I try to show off what we're working on, but this Altheros guy seems to have a hard on for making Masterz's life hell. So Masterz showed him a render I had made, and is now holding it above our heads. So I figure what the hell, I'll treat you guys to an early surprise, and then we're not having to worry about leaked images anyway.

The Assault Rifle is well in to the texturing process right now, so making comments about what you would change in the model isn't going to get you very far just so you know. Nothing about the model is likely to change at this point. Expect a more in depth look at the design and what not when I finish the texturing and get it in game. Enjoy.

NICE!

I've always wondered why people try to put stupid scopes on the AR's. IMO, 500 hundred years from now, the screen could be used to show a magnified image of an area, thanks to some sort of scope imbedded in the front nose of the gun. That would make it MUCH more feasible than a gun with no decent iron sight. Well, with no iron sights.

Objection!

Most (if not all) Halo MA5 AR's have hidden iron sights that can pop out.

Sadly,we never get to see them in the games.

Maybe Bob can add them in (sometime in the future) for the lolz.

But for now at least, we've the leader of the storm covenant, Jul Mdama (or somethin like that), to take the role of the main villain
