just bump up the ai damage and slow the spacing between shots and you'll get the same gameplay from halo 2 beam snipers with cmts carbine snipers. simple as that, I me even I could do that in five seconds, no need to push for a new sniper weapon

one im not pushing im just saying that it would be awesome that cmt made a covie sniper weapon and 2 i meant a weapon that can also kill ai in the same rate that they ai could kill you with it and that can make a headshot or kill with ease from a large distance

So i was wandering...Is this going to be like SPV 1 and 2? is it going to be the same campaign with a text mod and a few new BSP's? i mean with open sauce it'll be a little better/different but does it end there? why not make it completely custom? all new custom BSP's for everything, no reusing the old, it's flawed and outdated anyway. Reuse the same Dialog, story line, music and overall badassness of the original game play that changed the way we play games today, but make it more fitting to Custom Edition.
Here is what i suggest. Make all new BSP's, taking out the old ones. Because, it seems to me, that you're just re-texturing the old BSP's and keeping them in with no change to anything, besides AI and a little re-positioning of scenery, and then adding in your own custom ones in between to make the game play last longer. What, i think, you need to do is make the new BSP's and add in some new game play value, instead of some blank BSP's with some AI to fight. you, no, we! need more game play value, more objectives, something to make the fun last, and make us think more so it's not just another mindless repetition of the same campaign with a few different additions
Add in New, short, cutscenes of master chief fighting a few AI at once, Like two or three zealots(or whatever they are) with swords coming after him. and him using their strokes to fight each other and themselves. I mean you'd need a third person animator for that but still it would be completely perfect. Maybe even an assassination style thing in the "truth and reconciliation" have it so you can walk up behind an elite and assassinate him, then drag his body to hiding, that would be adding some game play value and making the player feel much more badass.
Or make it so in "Two Betrayals" when you have to destroy the things with your shield charge, they should be guarded( i mean if i had something that was crucial for the system to operate i would have it a little more protected) so maybe something like you have to go to a security room and guard Cortana while she shuts down some for of shield then in another part of the room she has to unlock the doors so you can get in meanwhile you're fighting off sentinels the whole time.
These are just my opinion of what i would like to see, i would love to see the game become more fun to play. Like i said keep the same story line but make the BSP's custom and add in some more custom stuff to make the game play last longer and be more fun for longer. like i said just a suggestion and my opinion not saying that they had too, i just wanted other peoples opinions on it.

You forget that it has plenty of CUSTOM parts, suitable for CUSTOM edition. If you wanted it totally CUSTOM, they would have a lot more work. Btw, have you played a30s CUSTOM parts, its almost enough to be two levels. So its plenty CUSTOM, mate.

this has made me wonder, awhile back you had a map b40_final, that took place right after b40 where the player would have to defend himself until the pelican arrived. I'm guessing you had planned to script it so that level loaded after b40 ended, and then 343GS would load after that small add on. Can we expect any small new levels that add content such as that level that utilize the campaign bsps or have you dropped that idea entirely? Or was it just an experiment that never was planned to originally make the cut?
the reason I'm asking is having small add on levels that load inbetween individual campaign levels would allow more tag variety in the sence that you wouldn't be overloaded with all the tags from the previous level, thus allowing more space to work with. Would be good for a few new combat scenarios such as short dogfight levels or firefight type scenarios which would add more flair to the vanilla campaign imo
