Quote: --- Original message by: UnevenElefant5 Actually I would size up the smaller magazines. If they're about the size of the default ammo packs, then they're pretty small and they could use some scaling up, imo. Yeah, in the old pics I didn't do it but I know about the model scaling now. It's done in the .weapon tag.

Do not use a normal map filter over the diffuse, it makes the bitmap look wrong. Make a more simpler bitmap based upon the current diffuse.

Alright Ill do that. I was just talking to bourrin and I agreed that I should bake the normal in max ansd then add more detail via the filter. I got the spec working. the lighter part is the omni light Edit: made a different and was happy with results. Edited by Cheddars on Jul 15, 2012 at 10:06 AM

That's pretty sweet Jesse! I'll look at proportions and stuff soon, then I'll see about doing it with CMT and H2 weapons ;) It certainly does add a new edge to the default campaign just havin' these around. Oh, and I'll probably release 'em for the hell of it. Edited by vampire_girl on Jul 14, 2012 at 12:43 AM I'd definitely be interested. Is there a way to make these fall from the weapon during each reload_empty? Edited by Echo77 on Jul 16, 2012 at 07:30 PM

I would do it be scripting a tag (probably a .garbage I think it is) to be created on the gun when you hit reload.
So yes. I would assume so.

Have you got the specular map for them? Ill will try and find the halo 3 one if you want because it will make a major difference in shader terms :p. For the multipurpose map Paste the specular map into your blue channel and your detail map which is the blue channel of the diffuse into the red channel. I only discovered how much a difference it made when I was doing this -_- Nice shaders though Edited by Cheddars on Jul 18, 2012 at 07:01 AM

Yeah, I basically started these new shaders with nothing but a crappy pixely base map and a really bad multi. I have none of the actual Halo 3 bitmaps. If you do have access to the specular and whatnot, that would be awesome. Edited by MoooseGuy on Jul 18, 2012 at 12:51 PM

My god... Use pidgin and install the gfire plugin to log into xfire. Everyone who uses xfire and OS should try it sometime. Or you do what kirby says, rename xfire.exe to something else and disable the ingame overlay. Edited by XlzQwerty1 on Jul 22, 2012 at 10:29 AM

I didn't really add much detail because i thought it would look better with textures and bump maps. Don't mind the end of the bridges it's supposed to be connected to a mountain or something. Quite sexy, but can you post some pictures in the perspective view? Orthographic is a bit confusing. Also, have any closeups of the more interior regions of your design?

I know this. X| I just got kind of tired with working on it yesterday so i was even to lazy to even turn it on perspective... I could have added more renders too, but... like before... I got too lazy... -_- I'll put it on perspective next time... How can you guys tell?! :O I will fix the interior. It actually looked kind of plain in this render believe it or not... I know, i didn't show it yet so you guys wouldn't know. But still. Just got back so i will work on it later. I would love more critique when i add more renders. :) Oh yeah. How would you get the best looking render? Edit :( I added some things, changed some things, and fixed some things. Here they are. [White is glass for now...] -Don't know why it got darker... .>.> Under the bridge. -Yes i will fix that face on the pillar thingy... I forgot to make it higher res... I will do that next time with lighting... Also forgot to do until the last picture, didn't feel like re-rendering the pictures... Edited by P3 on Jul 23, 2012 at 10:39 PM
