The origins AND location on screen are technically impossible to achieve in CE. 1- Halos 2+ have crosshairs lower on the screen, hence a level gun points to a lower position. 2- Widescreen in Halo CE just cuts the top and bottom off of the screen, keeping the same FOV. 3- Widescreen in Halo 3 extends to the left and right, I believe.

Starting work on the Halo 3 Beam Rifle, but I really should get to finishing the Spartan Laser shaders. Obviously it is really bad right now but I'll get to fixing it up, it's just that I hardly know where to start. Jesse I think you should take pictures in a more brightly lit area. One of the big parts about Covenant shaders is the reflections, and it's hard to judge the reflections if there's no lights :P

Where would one locate the extruder valves. Are those the tubes running liquid to the big board and the other board sticking out in my computer? There is a pump attached. Do I disable it?

Make sure it has time to drain properly before you lock the seat into its upright position. Then try highlighting the picture of the map and pressing Alt F4. Godspeed. It is still UV'd but at one random point all got assigned to one material and I couldn't go back to undo. Well it's whatever, I will materialize after the model is finished. Total Work: 8 hours-ish

Jesse, back to you - I've always hated the shaders on the glowing crystals in all versions of the beam rifle, including the in game ones... They always seem too over-designed. However, I'm sure others feel different and that's more of a subjective point.
Otherwise, I would say the non-Covenant metallic parts look a little lifeless and plastic, but maybe a more well lit screenshot could tell a better story.
I can't do shaders for crap, so if you fell the need to disregard what I say, then I won't be offended! :P

Edited by Jesse on Jul 20, 2011 at 11:44 PM Make 2 shaders for te model (metal and shine), turn down the the saturation of the illum bitmap and edit the hue and brightness to make it a paler pink (also it's better to make a separate shader for illum an make it transparent(do this by deleting every part on the model except the parts where the illum goes and export it and import it into your scene,than assign illum Bitmap and attach to the mesh of the original model and make the shader a shader transparent Chicago.)than make the shine a bit lighter and set the brightness low.
