It's very good fun, but needs more dedication than I am currently putting in. My course in Canterbury is pretty great because it's not focusing on the technical side of Architecture too much - I did that for a year and I thought it was pretty dull, mostly because I don't really want to do it as a profession. I really enjoy design in general, so thats where I get the kicks from, I guess. Besides, when you're at a party and people ask you what you do, when you say 'accountant' that kills the conversation. Architecture avoids that, thankfully. 'Cause, you know, I'm such a party animal like that. Cough.

But yeah the technical stuff is pretty dull... I'm taking my 3rd year of architecture next year, its fun though.

why dont people make a visor reflective looking i mean like metallic shiny i know these are from the trailer but i think visor should be more shiny like when people say the shiny armor looked like crap Edited by Wesker on Jul 4, 2011 at 12:53 AMEdited by Wesker on Jul 4, 2011 at 12:54 AM

The bottom one would be for when the armor is brand new. Top one seems a bit odd cause the part you circled seems to be very polished but the rest of the visor is gritty? How does that happen.

I actually found the image that way. haha well, its gritty because of dirt. I can imagine the Master Chief wiping or clearing the dust off before he wears it though. You can have grits, burns, dust, and scratches on a helmet but I think it'll look cool if it was still genuinely ding shiny. looking at his armor too now it looks pretty sex with his armor also being scratched up and eroded Edited by Wesker on Jul 4, 2011 at 01:11 AM

Here's a sample on the next release I'm working on, if there's a specific type of metal I could make to be tileable feel free to let me know. I made this because I have to look at diamond plating all the time at work and thought it'd be cool, I also have a galvanized metal I'm working on (might be just a base though).

What's with the Gold stuff? Did I miss something? Haha, I work at the flagship Levi's store in Union Square SF. It's an awesome building with lots of curved concrete, metal floors/walls and hardwood flooring. It's is just a really cool looking place! The gold stuff is paint, the bottom right would be tile able and then the yellow paint could be rearranged to making framing or other details. Edited by YakZSmelk on Jul 4, 2011 at 06:20 PM

And all of you realized that the first image jesse posted had only the Blue channel from the normal map on it. Loooooool.
The 2nd looks better but its still needs work. I'll handle this.

Also notice I fixed the 3P screen edges. The first pic had green all round the bitmap (idk why) but the second doesn't because of the alpha channel I created.
Also for those who probably don't know, the scratched visor is supposed to be for the SP biped, the MP one is supposed to be shiny and clean which is probably what 094 means. Edited by jesse on Jul 5, 2011 at 07:55 PM

Choccy posted some binary code which, when decrypted, turned into this massive fictional troll fight in which basically every other word was profane.
