I dig, but the top isn't bent upwards enough.

I'd finish my own reach HUD but I can't make a good looking radar for some reason.

thanks :D

Finally got off my ass and finished the motion sensor (with sweeper).

I might re-do the plasma grenade icon because I still don't like it.

I think it's called feathering. It's what the Bloom mod does for games.

bloom involves a tweaking and it effects everything making things too bright and blurry :/ what if you were able to give the slight effect to the hud like things that may or should glow like on the display on the ar

God, you're such a kiss*** to everyone idltp. You always think everything looks perfect and amazing.

Jesse, hud is looking good so far, but I think the plasma grenade icon could use some tweaking, and maybe scaled down a bit.

I have some good news and not-so-good news regarding my map.

The good news is, I was told my UVs suck and need to be redone, not to mention vary up the textures more. So I did that for quite a few things on the map and I will be working to fix the texturing up as well as some obnoxious not-so-right-but-still-fixable things on the BSP.

The bad news is that by doing so all of the light fixtures and control panels I used to make the map look cool are royally out of place by Sapien (the coordinates for my BSP aren't changed between builds in Max; I didn't move the BSP or skybox at all in Max). This mean I'll have to do all of that again, which I realize now isn't so bad since I have a good sky to keep me from going overboard with the lights.

Here's a vid to show the new UVs:

Some people (like me) like to know what we are getting into beforehand. Maybe you should tell us what map or level this is.

Okay? It's the same level as the one I posted in THIS thread:
http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm%3Fpage=topic&topicID=38048

The map is inspired heavily by Epitaph. It's more like a CE version of Epitaph and was made a lot more straight forward and simplistic. Still working on a story, but since it's so related to Epitaph I've decided to make it the pre-Epitaph, which would describe why some areas look really rough (laziness prevails!).

What's the name again? I'd personally call if Prologue, Prelude, or something that means Before (cause it's before Epitaph right)?

I redid the Plasma grenade icon.

Still not too sure if I like it but it's better than before.
I also need to scale and move it around a bit.

i guess you cant switch out glowiness for clarity xD

it will still have the clarity and a light glow

I tried making a new HUD the other week - just toying around really as I'm not sure the positioning could work, but not too shabby for a first attempt. I notice that having HUD elements on the bottom right is bad when overcharging, as the PP tends to overlap it for some reason :/

Not sure what I was thinking with the motion tracker. Need to re-do the numbers as well.

Thanks a lot guys! It still needs some tweaking here and there - originally I was going to put it in a SP map I'm designing but who knows when that's going to happen... so I may well release this early, along with a couple of other weapons and so on at a later date. When it's finished, of course. I can't wait to actually complete something so I can have something finalised to show everyone x.x

All I see on my Private Messages list is MMAMONSTER's PMs, nothing from you.

Finished the Flashlight (as armor ability).

so the first 3 picture are varient and the last one is the original

i think that if you want a slanted item on your hud (to my thought i think you wanted to give it a 3d looks like looking out a helmet) you should support the design with lines that gives out the shape even more

i can also imagine a boxed radar to match the other side of the hud plus a a compass so that it gives the lines a reason to be there

I would leave lines out of it. I think HUDs look best when their presence on the screen is minimal.

That's really cool... is it just my eyes or does the motion tracker seem slanted the wrong way?
Minimalism is awesome!

Yeah, motion tracker is really funky, it's supposedly slanted the correct way but it still looks... wrong. In the vector files I had an extra bit next to it to show the multiplayer game type, but since that doesn't seem to be possible to edit the position of, I left it out. I might try something else with that completely, maybe a little more rectangular.
I'm not a massive fan of overlays on the HUD, I was considering doing something subtle like darkening the bottom corners and top centre, but nothing too noticeable.
I just think the Halo HUD is so so cluttered, it really gets in the way of immersion. wanted to try and simplify it to make it seem like something you might actually have in a helmet, but still look kinda cool.
Once I've sorted the vehicle masters and torch battery indicator, and potentially a new counter set, I'll repost. I'm currently slaving away trying to get a resubmission for Uni done... I am procrastinating massively by even being here, haha. Something next week, perhaps.
Thanks for the feedback!

EDIT: On the minimalism, Slappy - I do Architecture. Maybe this explains why c:
