Not really, I kind of just want to show progress... but your right, i guess I'll stop posting here..

But since I'm used to this community I like the showing off and the good crit, Dennis should make a Game Development section but not related to CE.. I like this community, but i its irrelevant to Halo, there isn't a mass way to communicate, fast and easily like this. :o

I guess. You could also actually make Halo content. Seriously halo mapping apperently still lives so why not actually produce stuff to fit in. You could make such a boat lower poly and have it in Halo i'm sure it'd be a nice map.

When I'm done with the model, I will model a lower poly version for CE for you guys..

i've spent so much time on this, I've modeled several pieces inside out..

the main goal (besides a composition project) is to sell it.. just for some extra money I could use..

(Plus some insider stuff with Royal Caribbean I have going on...)

But this community definitely deserves it..

I have learned so much more modeling with this ship, and if you would like to continue seeing my progress on the main model I will post it (If Dennis approves, of course it being off-topic)

But I do believe after this model I could benefit a ton to the Halo CE community... With incredible BSPs at least, since they are my favorite thing to model

I honestly don't know how it is hard? o_O
I've been modeling since I was 7.. and I've just grown up with it.. I believe the most I could do is record me modeling, and possibly just narrating every step.. but it'd be rather awkward to me haha

Been a while since this thread's been active I see.
Well, I'm pretty sure all of you have seen the Halo 4 warthog:



I'm also pretty sure that people will be eager to get their hands on content which, in Halo, doesn't come out 'til next year. Well, Forza 4 is released on the 11th of October this year, with the Halo 4 model and bitmaps. There'll always be some dissaproving people, but that's life. I was wondering if anyone liked the idea of this hog in CE (and sorry if it's been mentioned before). Just to clarify, I still firmly believe in custom content and that rips should not be abused. But why turn away assets when they're within reach?

It's the worst warthog ever. Anyone notice the gas cans on the back?


Why do they have to change everything? Master Chief's armor, the warthog, Forward Unto Dawn..... etc.

Just... Bad.

For the love of god, it isn't even confirmed to be the same model that halo 4 will use, and it is also being rendered in a completely different game, with a completely different shader system that is not the same as Halo in any way, seriously guys, you have seen absolutely nothing about the game, besides one trailer and some concept art, stop acting like 5 year olds.

I agree that Halo 4 will probably not be a game of the decade like CE or 3, but if you ask me, if 343 is made up of retired bungie members and others, it might still be good. You guys just hate it because a silly game releases a silly model with silly textures and a silly backstory. Sure, they changed the Chief's armor, but they changed all the armor in Reach, and I bet you guys just crawled all over that game. I didn't, but meh. Anyway, they haven't released much gameplay like they are doing for CEA. How can you know?

I agree that it is unlike any other warthog, and I don't like the design. But even so....

Also Bobblehob, even if it won't be the model used in Halo 4, it will be close, or else why would it be labelled "Halo 4 warthog" on official articles? Also, what do the shader system or the textures have to do with anything? The textures are bound to be bad, and not like in Halo 4, because as explained, it is a factory-fresh standard hog. And the shaders will be redone to fit Halo CE will they not?

Also, take into account that many reject new things as bad because they are different. You cannot know this until you have thorougly analysed it.

This is why I say this I cannot stress this enough. Also I thought they did confirm this was gonna be the Halo 4 hog but it might look different in game.

You just disagreed and agreed with me in the same paragraph xP My point was that the texturing, models, and shading system used in Forza are completely different from Halo and thus the warthog, if it even is what we will see in Halo 4, will not look like this in the game. I am also still extremely skeptical that it will even look like this.

The gas cans on the back are hydrogen tanks and are very appropriate due to the previous non-existance of actual fuel in the warthog.

Exactly. It can be edited to have shaders like that of a h3 warthog in ce, and can have edited textures to make it look battle damaged. It could look pretty cool customized.

Which is your real opinion? Do you think the textures are bound to be bad and the shader system and textures don't have to do with anything or do you think the shaders can be edited like that of a h3 warthog and with battle damage?

I'm saying that the original shaders and textures are bound to be un-Halo-ish, so custom would be better, and could make the model look good. I thought I made perfect sense in the posts? Maybe it was just badly worded... :(

Reach was before all the other Halos, plus they're spartan 3s.

So you're saying that in the course of a couple of weeks, the UNSC's design and maintenance of Mjolnir armor went suddenly perfect? That their shabby maintenance making it all scratchy suddenly changed? That the design for the Mark V and Mark VI changed?

Anyway, that hog COULD look good in CE with some proper customisation. I doubt it though. The thign that really stands out as yucky is the armor plating on the turret. Nothing like Halo hogs.

In first, this is a very VERY good model, who peaples hate this hog because the bitmaps suck etc... suck ! This bitmaps are not finish and the shader aren't finish! Sorry i'am angry today !

It's an amazingly good model. Some people need to see the difference between a cool looking slim super vehicle compared to a realistic warthog that actually looks like it could exist. Even if we did get technology advanced enough to run a vehicle on hydrogen tanks and give it amazing steering, I doubt that it could run on one small hydrogen tank, the smallest engine possible, and some cheap looking wheels that look like they came out of a dumpster. In my opinion, this new warthog makes a nice change.
