so that would mean h3 scorpions and wraiths would be able to have two gunners? epic.

If you can get the passenger weapon pickup thing to work, make a strike warthog with a gauss cannon or something, and one of those halo 2 portable human turrets as a thing to use in passenger seat, like it is attached to the hog, and you swing it out. Cool, if you ask me.

I wonder if someone could make a special Strike pack, where vehicles were modded so they were still basically the same, but tougher and stronger as well. Like with my hog example, and if nobody is in gunner seat of falcon, or passenger seat, then you can control two chainguns there?

That'd actually be cool if someone could script it. My idea: You get a chaingun(or whatever gun) for the falcon only pickupable by passenger and stuff, but script it so if nobody is in passenger seat, you get to fire the gun that just lookes ornamental less a passenger's there.

The only problem is, if the passenger picks up wep, then what would the turret do?

I dunno.

If you changed or added to the model from the lifepod you could get a nice submarine, but unfortunately my HEK doesnt work :(

I got bored so I decided to try something with vehicles. This is the first model that I've done with anything to do with vehicles. I'm mostly a weapon and BSP guy... Pretty basic with just boxes...
I'll shape it up later when I've got rest of the stuff on there.




Is there anything I should know to help my model become detailed but in a speedyish pace?

Make the basic shape, then add fine detail at the end or as you create parts. Your best to just model at a slowspeed and get good results, then you will get quicker as you learn easier ways to make shapes.

You have made me load 3ds max now lmao, i ain't loaded it in months. I want to see how normal maps will bake from my rocket hog turret. :P

As editable poly, you could remove the excess edges and verts at the base, between the toes.
The side(s) of that block at knee level could use some edge turning. That tool is available for editable mesh.
To flatten the sides, you could copy/paste vertice Y values in the transform type-in at the bottom (3 boxes - x, y, z).
Alternatively, you could select the faces and click Make Planar, which would flatten the selected faces to the averaged normal, which would be slightly off from the Y axis. Try it with Show Normals checked.

Excess verts? I didn't notice any, personally, but that could just be me over-looking it.

The rest is TL;DR, so, whatever.

Model looks... Odd, imo. It's a good start, though, very boxy, but thats easy to fix.

there will be one on the other side too.

also remember that vehicles and other crap other then BSPs use render only models too so it doesnt have to be all closed up like that. it helps to not use so many polys.

Why does everyone use these light purple reflects when it should definitely be darker. I could compare almost all shaders on every covie vehicle that has been released or shown in recent days and no one makes them dark as they should be hardly.

The hours of UV/Texturing this has died. It is still UV'd but at one random point all got assigned to one material and I couldn't go back to undo. Well it's whatever, I will materialize after the model is finished.

Total Work: 8 hours-ish

Looking awesome man. You should get a job in modeling in the game industry :).

I have currently been making a halo 3 prowler. I have done animations and everything and will shown a ingame pic in halo ce when zekilk has done collision.

As for now here's what it looks like in halo 3.
