yea array is pretty helpful.. just select an object, goto Tools > Array... set how far apart you want the new instances to be and angle increments and stuff.. and then i dunno how he did it, but with my tank i made a path around the wheels and gave all the instances a path constraint. saved me having to place them one after another :/
and im pretty sure its 16 million polies.. partly because this isnt a number "16,676,9160" the commas should be like this "166,769,160" but mostly because thats the most useless model ive ever seen if it has 166 million. L2optimize. i make alot of models that are well into the millions of polies so im not saying its a bad thing, but really you're not getting any more detail or smoothness when you add your 12th turbo-smooth iteration

Treads are rigged, made using a script called TrainMaker.
16 Million Triangles.
All objects have iteration's of 2 or less.
And Triangle count does NOT matter on a model like this.

That's the one, take's a while to set it up properly as it isn't designed for this, but still works :P

Btw what you do Hunter, is really impressive. I got something custom that you could try to model, its some arms. But i'd like better to make my owns, if you could take a video of you modeling, it would be helpful for the whole community.

When I have time to model a personal model I will record it. Only issue is I hate modelling none stop and like to switch between what i'm doing :L

A2009/Hunter/Whatever you name yourself now you heathen - looks awesome. Is this progress on the one you posted on DA?

Slightly off what people are talking about here, but a question that I will potentially explore at a later date. I have seen people use the suspension animations (or what I assume is the suspension?) to create landing legs on things - would it be possible to use this on a legged walker to create a kind of hacky IK? Then with larger walkers, the end part of the legs can still hit the ground and avoid levitation on more uneven terrain.

Nah its ripped but thanks! I was modeling a custom phantom, i had most interior down but decided to restart it.. Regardless i have much trouble with organic objects (round like covie) so i cant model it, and i need a high poly modler for normals and an unwrapper, which i neither have at the moment.

i got it textured properly but when i compile the JMS it only compiles one shader model for some reason.but i opened the bitmaps wich are the shaders that arnt compiled and if you press show bitmaps it doesnt show them.it also says when you compile them it says

skipping bitmap with non-power-of-two-dimension

Soooo. This thread got dead. Almost done with my falcon. any offers to tag it?. I'll also need someone to texture it. But right now i'm working with tagging and i'll get to what i need after the gearbox model is ingame. So all i need is for some reach lover to step up and make it happen
