well, all I can say, if it's because the textures are too light, I guess at least just try making a darker version of them to see how it comes out. Also, what does your specular look like?

Finally i'll also post my banshee shaders because I dont like them much, later... Why not, his crit is valid and true. Your shaders look terrible, they are like a 2 minute job. There is no detailing at all or attempt to enhance the lack of interest in the textures. You could join the wagon of adding the cool hexagon's to the spec map which actually makes it look cool and interesting. At the moment all you have is an un-realistic purple colour which looks like some kid has gone crazy with a purple highlighter on this phantom. before you go working on more shaders actually fix the ones you have already "done". Or in-fact, instead of just taking already created textures maybe try and enhance them textures so they look better in such an old engine, i.e. paint some extra detail or shading into them. You don't have to be amazing at textureing to actually try and make something better, at least you have put some effort into it instead of converting file types and sticking in a shader and then just adjusting 2 / 3 values... Hexagons are there, and no, it's not a 2 min job. Try porting some stuff to see what it gives with a 2 minutes work. Try extinction's phantom. I made a new shader, but idk why, it looks darker v(really h2-is) in sapien, but looks to bright in game. I'll make it even darker. I wont post screenies for new because i'm working on a new cubemap Looks kinda too dark now lol. Didnt make the cubemap. 1am here Edited by bourrin33 on Apr 28, 2011 at 07:26 PM

Shouldn't the colors be more of a brownish purple? Maybe that's what the specular reflection color I am seeing is in pics, but most all pics I see don't look light purple at all.

The contrast between the current purple and the grey is way too high in it's current form, the purple needs to be significantly darker as does the grey.

Hexagons should be a bit more announced then, i can barley see them. At the end of the day the Phantom looks like crap. Exact reason I dislike rips, because no effort goes into making them better. They are just converted and stuck on something...
Use something called effort, and knowledge and make the textures better.

I'm coming up with what I said from the knowledge of how it all works and what can be done to make it look better. I have only briefly use shaders years ago. It is not a judgement on rips but a true fact. In regards to my previous post. I also know what you need to put into a shader for Halo CE in order to make it look like that.

I copied a couple functions out of the gbxmodel and animation importers for reading values, but for the most part, yeah. It's loosely based on rec0's importer. Murphy's law struck again - after I uploaded it, I discovered that opening a saved scene got all kinds of annoying errors. But I fixed it, and I've updated the download linked to above. Note that making changes to the new attributes won't have any real effect, and won't be exported. It's just for examining physics tags already made, to understand how they work

Well this is more of a vehicle scenery I have been working on, and since noone ever seems to post in semi official and I am the last poster there, I guess I can't really bump myself. But anyway, I guess I can throw this here. Tags for this will be released AS SOON as I am done with them. I am at the moment just finishing up some small stuff with the textures and making multis but that shouldn't take too long.

H3 Chopper Bitmaps need to be changed, needs a good projectile, needs collision, needs physics and then custom animations, then it'll be finished.
