I have been inspired. Thank you for bringing that tank model to the light guys, I've been sticking with the traditional "Turret on armored box". Brings a wealth of ideas to me.

Well, don't forget that the turret doesn't have to be on top. You could have a large track with the guns mounted on the sides as well, like that one from Indiana Jones.

Mine would simply go *poof* and be no more. Can we have a few of the front of this beast? Maybe a wire frame? Although a wire frame probably looks solid...

That design doesn't look practical IRL, but looks like it'd mess stuff up either way.

fyi, wireframe on a high poly isn't really important. As long as it works for the normals, who cares how the mesh looks.

Awesome;. By base I meant that thing where the main barrel attaches to the chassis. That ones I have seen are round and smaller. Might have been a different version thouigh. I dunno. To get the viewport to display such effects like AO and Shadows what you do is: 1. Right Click "Smooth and Highlights" which is how the viewport is currently displaying the model, so if you have pressed F4 to go into wireframe mode it will say "Wire + Smooth" I think, you get the jissed. 2. Go to "Lighting and Shadows" menu and basically enable everything undo and including "Enable Hardware Shading". 3. You can add your own lights if you wish to get control over the shadows ect, just change what lighting system you wish to use about the options you enabled. And for the redner I just used these mental ray materials and the settings shown on the image. http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=69829
