I Did some more work on textures and shaders to the mc this morning & My oven just went ding!!!! New masterchief_techsuit Boys!!! Top armor plate and helmet on sp are not final yet. but mp is... visor done mp armor done sp armor 90% done (got to brighten up the top armor and bottom helmet) sp model 90% Model is mikes department. Well all my texturing and shaders are finally. done after months worth of full days and nights working and tweeking and mixing and making different textures and testing and mixing and creating and applyign and blending and overlaying and shadeing and more mixing and blablablablabla.... My work is done. textures are final for the OS Halo 4 MC! The rest is up to mike! Check out the previews if you like I just Ziped them up Cuz there's to many to post! Thanks so much mike for letting me work on this guy and masternoob for his overhead Lighting Techneek and also waffles and r439 sniper for some of there interesting tutorials. on shader and detail maps. I noticed a lot of ports from other games come out looking waaaaayyy too dark. Or is that because the test map everyone uses to display their tags on has dark lightmaps?

The lighting was kind of screwy...

Oh btw, the green channel of the control bitmaps can be utilized with OS, make a specular color bitmap and slap it in the alpha, and tick "use alpha as exp source". The green channel is the exponent source for halo 4: white is a larger exponent, and grey/black are smaller exponent values. blue can be used in defuse alpha as an overlay for where you want your cubemaps to show up. "blue can be used in defuse alpha as an overlay for where you want your cubemaps to show up." I'm trying to make use of the blue channel. I'm currently using the green as defuse. because the mp bipeds only come with controls & normal I use green as defuse that works. I use red as spec and that works. I put green in alpha of red spec and click "use alpha as exp source" and that also seems to work well. even better than just using red as spec. But im confused. with the blue channel. If I add blue as an overlay in my green defuse it seems to look a lot better but missing a part if I then make my alpha from the blue channel of those and remove the blue layer. having only my same green defuse but with the blue as an over lay in the alpha. like he sayed. Well unlike the spec mask. That does not work.like he sayed it does IT MAKES THE ARMOR TRANSPERENT (big no no.)or maybe im doing something wrong? I was not aware that you could have alpha in the defuse map at all. but I would like to make better looking defuse maps and make use of the blue channel. that is supposedly a Reflection Mask or possibly Self Illumination what do I need to do? I'm going to post some pictures of the mc that are not fully proper sense I made the new textures for the Forerunner! I learned how to make proper use of the control maps but unfortunately this method only works with every mp biped in halo 4 and not the sp mc. the control maps lack the proper green and alpha channel for my new method of making mp textures using the control maps. but for testing reasons. I made a batch just to see what we are missing and because to apply fixes to our current textures and I cant even believe the impact this test has had and will have on the final version of the textures. I have all ready posted pictures of our current textures, as you know the suite and cc in the visor and other places is all ready perfect. but master noobs multis we where using lacked the self illumination channel all together. and there where other errors in the other channels of the multis as well... so I made A new full batch of textures this time. there is not cc in the multi. but the multi now has proper self illumination so when I start mixing what I have the final version of mc is going to even better!!! so anyway I'm going to post some pictures from my self illumination testing. Please note that there is no cc NONE in the multi and the suits and specular are not even proper. (((((This test is strictly for the armor!!!!)))))) when you see this mixed with what I have posted previously your gona cheese! lol. Self Illumination point test. could u try giving a slight contrast boost to the textures, and maybe bleach the cc a bit so the white looks... whiter. (maybe add a little more contrast and a tiny tiny bit of grain to the normals if you're using OS)
