Just tested editing the blue channel. I pasted a black square box.

It does not work.
When ever I make these new multipurpose maps with the spec In the blue It doesn't seem like thay are turning out like a multipurpose maps is supposed to look but never the less I made them and put them in game anyway.

no OS used!

cc in the alpha of multi
spec in the blue of the multi.

armor looks A+ But it seems as though the suit and hands are way to dark.

CS6 is screwy. bottom line!
no matter though I got past the problem there.
we are still tweeking and fixing things.

Sp

this is default textures. with master noobs multi's
I'm not sure if he is planning on making sp defuse & multi maps? maybe I should just take out the cc in the multi's for sp but I'm not sure? he looks pretty good.
I have a problem where the tech suit is to dark. on Mp only.
I think the default tech suit with master noobs multi's look great.
this sp biped in the picture is using the same shaders as the default mp biped. no os used.
we are still tweeking. just wanted to post this pic anyway
Mike is almost done finalizing all the kinks as well.

He is just as shiny as the default sp biped.
same settings same armor cubemap
this is the default sp shader setting's
master noob may update with new defuse & multi's for sp but I'm not sure.
As far as non os sp shaders go these are final.

nothing to wory about though the biped will be released with more than 4 sets of textures and shaders. so users can edit to there liking. and have different variants.

Changing the white to black in the shader's will give him 0 shine. it's that simple.
his armor is just much more detailed. I'm rely sic of changing shader settings.
The os version will look a lot better.

I could try a darker detail map?

Tone down the reflection values (brightness), keep the reflection colours if you want.

Eh. That level of shine only really works for the default MC biped.

H4 armor is a lot more dull and dark.

Is this OS?

Because no one don't barely use OS.

Just keep it like this.

I personally prefer the shinier one. I dont like dull looking models. I like the shiny but somewhat scuffed and scratched armor. Like the halo 3 beta armor and e3 trailer armor. It had shinyness and lustre but is also looked battle damaged and faded in places. It looked cool. All the final versions of the games toned down the shinyness and stuff, like in the final verson of h3, halo reach and h4. I remember in the vidocs and betas, the armor had much more detail and shine. It just looked better.

i like it better with the shine as well. i'm a huge fan of bloom, lens flare, and saturation, so to me it looks pretty dull. then again, i never thought halo4 looked that great, but i certainly hope u don't make it worse by dulling it down.

not shiny. for those effects, a 50-60% white specular cubemap would be the best looking...

We could always tweak the shaders ourselves.

I have a question for those with experience in this. As I have just gotten started with custom edition and don't have any real knowledge of it's inner workings yet.

Is it possible to replace the default spartan model with a new one, or would I have to place a new biped on the map and use bump possess on it? I was looking through the game files for the models but wasn't able to find them. Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough

forgive me if I ask any stupid questions in the near future, I'm trying to learn but some things are beyond my grasp at the moment

If you have the biped tag you want to use, you need to replace the default cyborg biped in the globals.globals tag, under player information/mp info sections. Then recompile a map and youll have your new player biped.

thank you. I didn't think it would be under a name like that. Fault on me for not thinking outside the box

I suppose I could, but I see that leading to an argument, and it's a bit soon for me to be causing any of that ruckus
