No, he is just saying that model in particular (the way it was ripped/fixed) has some polys with the wrong normal, ie. facing the wrong way.

I believe the confusion was between face normals and normal maps, where both are commonly called normals but address the difference of the two.

I believe it's just a port. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing, sometimes porting a completely random model for no reason is just fun. And sometimes a nice break from working on other things. So, today I reminded myself how bad a modeler I am! That top view.. really?But ya... even though it just looks like a naked person, it really is almost done (modeling wise) lol, it just needs hair, hands, feet, and me to decide whether I want the hip guards or not... I guess I can through some processors in for good measure.. Cardboard processors! (You're all thinking im insane right now, right?.. hmm, probably no references for cardboard processors.. I can hardly find any pictures WITH processors..) So, I might as well show pictures of what its meant to look like if I have the heart to finish it... Reference 1 (from prequel just announced.) Reference 2 (art for the first game.. Yes, the boobs are a bit bigger in the prequel game, it confuses me too)Yes, I should probably model in the edges between fabric and skin, but I'm a bad enough modeler already (when I was starting, it was looking so good, but then it kept looking worse and worse..) It would probably of been better if I could find more official art with her looking sideways.. of better yet, actually sideways, rawwr.

You know, you could always remake the flood and add those arms to a flood combat form (2 slashing arms on top, and 2 on the bottom for walking where basically the legs of the host are useless and hanging in air)
Then have a retexture that matches the color and pattern of flood flesh.

Btw, you shouldn't be importing those stuff as nodes. This is a biped, it needs bones. Nodes may mess up since you can move them everywhere. Bones only rotate in pivot on what they're attached to.
