Actually, they are modelled at their correct scale, but all of the weapons in Halo are set to be scaled up slightly when on the ground. It's in the .weapon tag, I think, I reset all the scales back to 1 - makes everything look more convincing, and weapons being dropped from animations don't suddenly change size. I think the original reason for making them bigger was so that they were easier to see, but I think its a bit of a ham fisted way of doing it.
Anyway, bit off topic there, my bad x3

Slap Happy, would you hate me if I said I thought the shaders were a touch too dark? I think it works well, but if it were me I'd have it a smidgeon lighter. Looks awesome though, my opinion is ultimately irrelevant :)

Actually they are only scaled up in Multiplayer, in singleplayer, the 3P models of weapons on the ground are the same size as the model while a biped is holding the weapon. In multiplayer, the models are much larger.

I think the detail map put the shaders off their balance. You might have to edit it more.

good to see you have the patients to keep editing when people add suggestions cheddars.
my knowledge of detail maps is little, but it looks very blurred, the armour and visor look like they need more shine/refelection because it just looks really dull, i can tell it's not your vid card settings that are low as the pistol is shiney.

hope that makes sence.

Why doesn't someone create a graphic overhaul for stock bipeds? Simpler than completely remodelling them, but still makes everything look a bit less outdated.

looks over scratched i think, decal is still jarring.
Also it looks kinda stretched on the chest, maybe it's a bit directional? like he's been through a carwash made of steel wool.

The decal is much better now! still looks like it's been kept really clean while the rest of the armour got scratched o.o

Yeah I used the shader model tag. I realized before I forgot to tick at the top 'alpha blended' or something.

Th title of the vid is right.

I suggest you simply start, unless you really want o have it where the hunter wrecks his gun.

In which case, speed the down motion up, and make it more fluid.
