much, much more profitable. you won't get a job if all you do is first person animations, no matter how good you are at them. the more stuff you can animate, the better chances of getting a job as an animator you have

fp animators around here are like, "oh you can import IKs using cad's scripts and make a gun move around doing very specific animations" compared to "oh look you can animate any type of character doing anything you want it to, even interacting with other characters, set up your own IKs and skeletal heirarchy systems on your own effortlessly."

companies don't look for people who animate one very specific thing. they look for people who have mastered the art of animation in general.

I don't want to work as an animator. I'm studying to be a psychologist, animation is just a side project. If I did this for a living, I wouldn't find it fun anymore. That said, I am fully capable of making any character animations I need. I am thinking of doing a scene with bioshock's characters though. It would be from the first person perspective of Jack, as he approaches a lone little sister. An enemy splicer beats him to it though, and the big daddy shows up and trounces him while Jack hides and watches from safety. I just need to figure out how to rip bioshock's actual bsp model first though.

You should make the fingers grip the weapon symmetrically (the tips of the fingers are not even). Move the gun pointing towards the center, and go ahead and add the second arm (the deagle is too large without two hands).

Seriously consider copying the MW2 origins with certain tweaks, because MW2 pistol origins look proper and better than most other origins.

Significantly better than before. However, I have some suggestions...

The way the hand is gripping the gun is plainly wrong. it would appear that the wrist is at something of an angle, which would make the recoil extremely painful (ignoring the fact that firing this particular hand gun with one hand would break your wrist regardless of your grip). You should move the right hand controller a bit to the right, and rotate it to the left. This will result in a more properly seated grip on the gun.

The upperarm bone is at an awkward angle as well, but its an easy fix. just move the bone to the left a bit.

The fingers and thumb are all poorly placed. Make sure that the padded side of the glove is directly up against the grip of the gun, and not floating above it like the ring finger is. The thumb is twisted in an awkward position as well. The padded side should be aiming downward, not against the grip.

Make these changes and it will be much more attractive. I also suggest moving the entire gun a little more to the center of the screen.

Targeted and Firing

Just found a model I made of the Automag suppressor a few years back so I thought I would finally put it in-game. It still needs more detail, a suppressed firing sound, better UVWs, and maybe even a new texture but here it is.

I just made the suppressor, the rest is just the Halo CE pistol edited to fit.

i thought i saw an animation of a biped running,it was in the bipeds section a while back.

found it,have to admit i thought this was very good work.

i dont. I really think gamma is a REALLY good animator (and scripter) along with Broke
ODX is nice. Never seen the work of icee or teh lag do can't say. But hell, we all got our own opinions

ICEE is very experienced and mainly does FP animation. Teh_Lag is just an incredible animator/HaloCE person.

You shouldn't rate animators against other animators. Animations are like art; each animator has their own style. What one may see as terrible may be viewed as beautiful by another (maybe).

I shouldn't even be on the list anyway :V

infact i have. The only animations of his i actually REALLY liked was the snow grove sniper and magnum imo

t3h lag is definitely an impressive animator for someone who does it in his spare time. he's one of the few I've seen who also dabbles in character animations as well. his lack of a horrendous attitude is a plus, the guy's a bit of an inspiration
