Any updates on the Gauss Sniper?

After seeing the awesome reload, I'd hate to see it forgotten!

@ Yoda,

I think you should move the taped magazine down a little bit,and smoothen some parts, other than that i think its looking great for a low poly m4

I've already heard that the firing needs more recoil. However in truth, I was pretty generous with the recoil seeing that it's a 9mm.

For my next trick:

The AK47 from medal of honor, using medal of honor's FP arms.

I had considered doing a camo texture for it as well just for fun, but right now I am working on other things. I have to go back later and make some other textures for it anyway (like a snow texture for the mod I am working on) so maybe I will make a camo one too.

I have a pair of FP arms that I have to get around to finishing, then I will be animating the m4.

L4D2's origins were horribly done. The gun shouldn't be literally AT YOUR CHEEK. I liked the original's origins and walking animations too, it just felt unique and nice but in the 2nd game they just made it boring...

You should hold pistols outward more, and more centered. Also, if you fired a .50 deagle with one hand in reality you'd earn a hospital trip... but who cares

I personally wouldn't want to rip anything, whats the fun in making a mod that isn't actually your own work?

If you want to learn to model in 3ds max 2010 I could send you a link to the tutorial that I used to learn. It is techinically a source weapon tutorial, but the modelling techniques are really helpful.

Athough the tutorial is REALLY REALLY REALLY long.

definitely not the 3 million people that bought the game, that's for sure. anybody who thinks severe realism makes a game better is horribly mistaken. related: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prt_OD10KT4

Yeah they're funny, but didn't they do the halo diorama parody too?
That's kinda dickish though.

it comes in 3 sections,

Part 1, modelling:
http://www.moddb.com/downloads/model-a-3d-glock-weapon

Part 2, unwrapping and texturing:
http://www.moddb.com/downloads/creating-a-weapon-for-source

Part 3, Animating:
http://www.moddb.com/downloads/creating-a-weapon-for-source-part-3

I would suggest that you at least go through parts 1 and 2.

yes, they did, and it was freaking hilarious http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkNskXnd4so

and let's be honest, any parody out there based on anything else could be considered "dickish"

anybody who takes offense to a parody, especially a parody of a video game, needs to re-evaluate their priorities

never said i took offense, i just don't see why they'd do it so blatantly obvious. it would have been better if it was more subtle.

uh, why wouldn't they

parodies and satire tend to be blatantly obviously based on the source

From what I've seen with character animation videos, i can see why. It's a timely process and the ultimate result can take too long to be exactly satisfying without ulterior motifs.

ICEE, why don't you try making a scene of animated characters instead of just one? It may provide more purpose as to why your animating and can offer some fun opportunities.

On the flip side, character animation is more profitable. And significantly harder.

I'm surprised there's no blender plugin for animating in 3rd person with kinect...
