Not to be offensive or rude or anything, but you only think that because you are (might I say) somewhat more of an average player when looking at things like this.
If you've ever noticed in the community: -Modelers tend to see more mistakes in models than other people. -Skinners notice and give better critique on skins since it's what they do. -Animators like me spot clipping errors and wacky movements like a white line on black paper.
Why? Because it's what we do, we know what's best and that's all there is to it.
Now of course, don't think I ever throw away the public's opinion on my animations, they can be useful since they are the ones mainly looking and using my animations, but most of the time the critique of people in my own art are what I best accept since they know what to look for and what to really fix. everyone relax. Jesus. I'm disappointed though, now everyone is going to be copying bungie's ALL NEW HALO REACH animations. They're the same damn thing with minor modifications. In other words, prepare for the community to be pumped full of "new" animation sets re-using the same bland and overall unimaginative motions from halo 3.
That is all.

ODX, do not patronize me. I animate too, and well far worse than you, I still at least can tell when something looks right. That guy's looks pretty solid to me. I think most would agree, judging by the comments above.

Like I said, average people in terms of their animating skills and therefore are going to think that just because they generally look like the animation they are supposed to and/or look cool. In an earlier version of my post I had somewhat mentioned you animating but, I remember you telling me you don't animate much anymore and so that's pretty much null. My apologies.

You seem to have misunderstood. I'm still practicing animating, and am not that good, but I never said I have stopped altogether.
For the sake of the peace, let's end this and blame it on differing opinions...

It was never a heated discussion, just a valid one that people should take notice to, but I've pretty much gotten my point across...I think.
Hmm, I remember hearing you say you don't really animate much anymore one time when I had labeled you as 'an animator' one time in a CMT MPG3 Beta game.

I would recommend the main firing animation of the claws to be a diagonal slash and keep the punch you have as the melee.
