minor clipping is good and necessary. Clipping hands to gun can help emulate grip.

Of course, you have to watch for when it gets too noticeable depending on your animations, and adjust it as such.

Continuing my Elite FP animation set; this time the Needler (no screen recording for it, sorry) and the first part of the Pistol. I hope people are still learning from these vids; they have definitely helped me improve my work habits as I start noticing all the little inefficient ways I used to do things.

That actually looks great, Jesse. I think purple is a weird color to use for it though, especially that patent of a shade.

He wanted an oddly placed shield status bar?(over the ammo?)

The purple is kinda strange but it works for it being a covenant HUD.(wait... elites wouldn't have a HUD would they? I mean theres no visor on them for it to show up on. All well) ^_^

Halo 2 used a Purple Elite hud, and supposedly, the visor is on the elites eyeball as some kind of contact lens, hence why the arbiters eyes change from black, to brown.

H2 wasn't that purple, it had a more of a magenta color it, somewhat similar to the color of the covenant carbine.

The color is there for the sake of being there at the moment. Jesse and I haven't decided on a color scheme yet. The bar at the top-right is for weapon heat. The shield/health bar has been re-scaled (compressed vertically some) and may even get a redesign if we can't get it to look good with the current one.

Nothing too creative in there, but I've got a special something in the works that I'll be putting up tomorrow. Hopefully you all will enjoy it and it'll help show just how creative you can get with FP.

Yeah. It's 222 frames long, not going ingame anytime soon. This was purely for fun and to get to flex my creativity muscles without the constraint of "but will it work in the game?!"

The "graph looking thing" is the curve editor, I've been using it a lot in these vids. Basically you can control interpolation between animation keys with it - very useful for fine-tuning.

Quick little firing I did for the shotgun. I didn't look at the Reach animations and I didn't really think much of what I remembered when I was making this.

Probably won't use it for anything but I've always wondered if there's some sort of right and wrong to a shotgun firing, especially for a Halo shotgun.
