Learn too apply proper smoothing as well. Your mesh looks like crap with smoothing set to 1.

The animations looked nice...and then I got to the mag out/smack/in part of the reload. Ugh.

Put some more detailed movements into it, because the movements make the gun seem as if it's made of cardboard, while the rest of the animation(s) have a nice heavier (and distinctly you) feel that everything needs to fit into. It's my usual preach about having animation uniformity, where everything feels as if the same care was put into everything.

don't hesitate to move keys and make faster movements, also learn to give the anims some... smoothness and to make them more natural, like adding a bit of recoil to mots of movements.

Also the barrel node is not centered or it's movement is not along only 1 axis

Guys I'm in a bit of an iffy. I don't know how I could make the plasma repeater slow down when about to overheat. Any ideas?

you can synchronize the firing speed and the overheat.
this is what i did on Isaac's repeater : i've set the primary firing speed to 16 then 4.5 on the secondary(Actually this is rounds/sec). Then I set-up the amount of heat generated to 0.096 or atleast i did, i forgot. but it is possible.

The functions for the overheat aren't even CLOSE to Reach, but at least Altis got it textured. :)
Plox ignore the disgusting shaders. I just needed one to get it ingame.







Working on a grenade throw animation next. Eek!

Glad to see at least someone's interested in them. Will be making more, but I only have a 30 day trial on my texturing program once I install, so I'm going to wait a bit longer to make proper bitmaps until I have more models finished.





Maybe I'm just crazy but I think the low poly one actually looks better and closer to the original.

That's basically all it is, it's a remake of Axel's chakrams from the Kingdom Hearts series.

Original model from the game:


I never claimed that it was a great model, in fact I threw it together in just under an hour. I just thought it was an awesome looking weapon and with Axel being a very popular character among fans of the series, I just figured people would be happy to see I'm making one.

make the toruses (torusi?) 4-sided and flatten them; they are blades, not rings. same with the cones lining the outside :P

It's funny that you mention that, because after I posted the image of the original I realized what I got wrong and redid most of it. I'm still playing around with the smoothing, but for the most part I'm pretty happy with it.
