Dayum Cheddars, looks pretty sweet. Been trying my hand at high poly but I can never get the geometry right and it ends up looking really awful. Can't wait to see more.

@Diaboay Thanks! I guess you just gotta remember to connect/inset/chambfer those edges you want to be hard.

here is the model (quick render). Ill probably have to bevel the top bolt/slider thing in so the normal map creator will recognise it:

So.... Whats your point. I didn't tell him to use image tags, I told him to use url tags to make it a link instead of just text. Unless I am mistaken (which I could be, if so just let me know) new members are only restricted from using image tags, not url tags.

How many iterations have you set it on? Looks like 3+

Also, disable TurboSmooth and post a wireframe so I can see how your building it.

Its on iteration 3. Is this normal or do you use a higher iteration for normals?

I always use 3/2. Your edges are WAAAAAY too tight. But it looks like your doing it alright, you are keeping the edge loops around the entire model. The circles could be part of the mesh.

The edges should flow around the model. They should end on a vert somewhere which would make a triangle.

And I used to use it, but now I try and avoid it as it can mess up AO maps, plus Tweek/Neuro mentioned they are a bad habit to get into, should try and model it all into the model unless more work than necessary.

Making my own video tutorial to encourage people not to rip. It will contain basic texturing, basic highpoly modelling and basic texturing.

Once unwrapped i plan to put it in game and get the shaders as close to reach as i possible can, and i can't stand plastic shaders either. Then i'll see if i can ship it off to get someone to animate it while i work on the tag itself, firing effects, click once and it launches one that detonates shortly after it hits the ground, hold the trigger in and it doesn't explode until you let go. Anyway, that's the plan. And i've got a few ideas on how to do the second firing :3

Not to be a pain in the neck... but if you are in a school "learning 3d" then why do you need to rip from halo? Why not make it yourself?
