Hey guys,

You know how there are games like good ole Halo that have factions that not only you fight but they fight each other? Well I've been obsessed with Halo so much that I've kinda forgotten the other games that would work the same way in terms of having multiple sides.
By this, I mean where you stay as one character or just 1 other (like the Arbiter) (Not like an RTS where you can play all the factions but can still see fighting of factions between each other) and I just... I seem to struggle to think of any.

Do you guys have any game suggestions that are like that? Very into it at the moment.

Age of Empires

Starcraft would do. Warcraft too. And probably Battle Realms. And maybe Perimeter. Warhammer!

In terms of non RTS, that would be limited.

Well, if you're looking for shooters with multiple factions, there's the old Battlefield Games. And some Star Wars games.

Halo Custom Edition has multiple factions.

You can play as:

> Cyborgs

> Cortana

> Elites

> Naked Elites

> Grunts

> Tanks

> Explodey fiery things.

The more distinct question would be how many of us liked Infinite Warfare.

There's more rts games, that have futuristic style like halo. and i love rts games too. but anyway, the best rts games (Land) for me :

1) Star Wars Empire at War
2) Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars
3) Homeworld Deserts of Kharak

But space is good too. Especially in Empire At War and the old Homeworld Games.


Don't forget Galactic Battlegrounds and the Red Alert Series. And practically Supreme Commander and that.

Empire at War is bad :/

It had the right ideas and it plays good starting off, but after a while you realize how poor the execution is. Idiotic pathfinding and ridiculously slow-paced combat take away from enjoyment pretty punctually.

At least Galactic Battlegrounds has an excuse, it was just an Age of Kings clone but still managed to be a damn good star wars game.

Galactic Battlegrounds with it's addon was a good game, I even still have the cd for that, Empire at War the addon was better to all the things they added.

There is even a healthy modding community which provides a variety of addons and the game is abandonware.

There's a lot actually. Most of me are RTS lel.

So it looks like only RTS games are the only ones doing this at the moment.

By multiple factions I'm talking about games that feature ai battles kind of like Halo when the Covenant vs The Flood even though they are also after you.

Games like:

Aliens vs Predators (Xenomorphs, Yautja and Humans)

Crysis (US Army Delta Force, Korean People's Army and the Ceph) (Not sure if the ai of the KPA and the Ceph actually fight each other though. I wanna make AI versus from different games too as well as Halo).

Crysis 2 (USA Delta Force, C.E.L.L and Ceph)

So basically, games like that. I tried Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 and I thought the Separatists were their own faction and you could have Rebels, Empire and Separatists but the Separatists were with the Empire :(.

So yeah if any of you could suggest games like what I mentioned above in that style (Please no RTS's) then I would be greatful).

I think Half Life was the first FPS to introduce NPC allies (the worthless Nali from Unreal notwithstanding).

Half life 2 also had the 3 faction war, but it was less fun since the "third" faction was just head crabs, barnacles, and antlions.

Battlefield 2142 would do Lel.
And 1942, if you're looking for a shooter game.


There's also them Bionicle Games.

BF2142 had only 2 factions: PAC and EU I think.....still a cool game though.

Marathon 1, 2 and 3. Although they're also made by Bungie. Another would be Warhammer 40000 Fire Warrior. In Doom if an enemy shoots at another enemy they start fighting one another. Spore would be another.

I forgot to mention Quake IV. When Jobal said Doom it reminded me of Unreal Tournament and Quake.

Kingdom Hearts 2 with yourself, heartless and nobodies that seemingly fought against each other.

Or maybe any RPG game.

You know.... Gta might work too, if you count gangs as factions.

It won't be a first person shoot-'em-up like Halo or Crysis but it's got your faction and four (five?) other factions to fight against that oftentimes fight each other.
If you don't mind the third-person camera or the faster pace, you might like this.
