Hello everybody. I've recently been trying to get into modding Halo:CE, particularly by creating maps. I've followed this: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGJnE3hcThg) tutorial, up to the part where I need to run 'cmd.exe'. Whenever I type in "tool", the system gives me an error saying that 64-bit is not compatible. I'm wondering exactly how do I circumvent this? Does my system just not work with the old Halo Custom Edition HEK tools?
Time-stamp for where I'm stuck: [16:55-ish]
Please give any help you can, I truly appreciate it!!!

Please give any help you can, I truly appreciate it!!! Pretty much everyone here is on 64bit. Having said that halo should be installed within the (x86) program files directory along with the hek. Im going to take a blind stab in the dark and guess that you may have installed the editing kit within the 64bit directory...... C:\program files (x86)\microsoft games\halo custom editon Or you could be using a 64bit version of cmd.exe The easiest way to see if a process launches 64- or 32-bit is to go to the process tab of the task manager, a 32 bit CMD will show as cmd.exe *32.

That's just the thing though, I always go into Halo Custom Edition from my 86 directory, which contains all of my HEK Bs. Should I just uninstall and reinstall the HEK under 32bit?..
I have a shallow understanding of this stuff, but if you don't mind answering, how exactly did you install your HEK (if you remember) just so that I can be sure I didn't mess up. Also, I just hit copy-paste (from Windows button) to get my cmd.exe into the Custom Edition folder, maybe that's where I messed up?
Again, thank you so much for the help. I really appreciate it. Edited by StinkReynolds on Feb 14, 2016 at 05:30 PM

Edited by StinkReynolds on Feb 14, 2016 at 05:30 PM If you head on over to the \program files (x86\microsoft games\halo blah blah just make sure that the hek and hce are both there. Easiest way to tell would be to locate to make sure all of the critical program are there such as halo.exe - sapien.exe - guerilla.exe e.t.c Oh & the best sure fire way to get tool to work without fuss would be to grab cmd from: C:\Windows\System32 and paste into your halo root directory. It's probably worth mentioning that if you are on a win 8.1 or 10 OS and you can't locate newly created/edited modding files than they are more than likely located here: C:\Users\xxxx\appdata\local\virtualstore\program files (x86)\microsoft games\halo custom edition In addition to all of the above thought I would reccommend my more modern approach to making a map: https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCqaZHfyXU2yyA33GnAC7oEw(Series not fully complete) Edited by Super Flanker on Feb 14, 2016 at 10:46 PM
