Okay, here it is. Lay it on me guys. Here's a whole chunk of sound design work I've done for SPv3. Part of me, having seen this video uploaded, realises that I have a hell of a long way to go before my sound design chops could ever be considered 'pro', but I'm still proud of what I've accomplished so far. Most of what you hear was done entirely from scratch.

Needler: not bad. A bit more aggressive (like in CEA) wouldn't hurt, but it's good
Shreeder: good.
Focus carbine: same as needler; a bit more aggressive, like the beam rifle in Reach, wouldn't hurt. But it's really a personal taste, here.
Particle carbine: 10/10
Impaler: doesn't really sound like a human weapon, but not bad on its own. I'd use it for something else, probably.
Silenced submachine gun: me like it, but the firing effect needs a bit more work. Mainly, I'd say you just used a particle parallel to direction. I'd use one set to screen facing too.
Ghost cannon: Don't like it at all. Ghost engine: Love it
Frag: Don't really know.
Plasma: somewhat better, but I'm still not persuaded. Maybe some more low rumbles for explosions...? But I don't know.
Vortex grenade: It's good
Assault rifle: Better than many AR sounds featured in the various Halo.

Environment Halo: sounds perfect
The Library: sounds perfect

@rododoonceagain - Just so you know, I can't claim credit for that assault rifle sound. That was all our previous sound guy Xalener's work. He had some crazy magic secret sauce for doing incredible human weapon sounds.

I quite like your work overall!
Special cheers to your environmental ambience, really nice.

@rodo: the Impaler is meant for an alien sniper rifle, in that context I do think it'll work well.

Hypothetical side-questions: are you
1) interested
2) available
=> for non-Halo related sound work?

Cheers and whiskeys.

I feel like the ambient sounds in the library could use a little more time in between the louder ones. It feels a bit too much. Also the background sounds for Halo seem a bit too much based on what you can see in your surroundings (aka: No birds at all).

Other than that it is all pretty nice.
If I'd ever need a sound designer for sci-fi stuff I'd probably at some point look for you.

There's some awesome stuff here, great work!
I'm not a sound guy, but I've got some feedback. (heh)
I completely lack the proper vocabulary to describe sound, so... hope you can work with me here.

Focus Carbine: I feel like if this were a guitar amp, it'd be that the gain is set way too high. It sounds like a transformer instead of a covenant weapon.
Particle Carbine: I like it, but at the same time, it doesn't sit right with me. I have no idea why. :/
Impaler: Now this... I can dig this. >:)
S-SMG: I'd appreciate it if there was less 'pew-pew'.
Frag Grenade: A bit more 'boom' would be nice.
Plasma & Vortex Nades: These are sounding pretty damn cool.
Ambience: Halo - Nature sounds amazing, but it kinda feels better suited for a jungle environment. I think less birds would be good. Oh God, the Library sounds amazing. But listening to it for too long would probably give me a headache. Even the clip was just enough to make me uncomfortable. Make it a bit more 'chilling' and I think it'd be perfect.

Everything else isn't enough to make me WOW, but it's still good nevertheless.

I must say that these works are brilliant, definitely something that is a true luxury to listen to.

So far, it surpasses anything I've heard in the canon Halo games, and I eagerly await what you have to offer next.

Good job, and may you have the best of luck in the future.
