Whether this is true or not, your attitude is kind of negative. He's asking for players to join him on Halo 2 for Windows (Vista). Given Halo 2 for Xbox was removed, and Halo 2 Anniversary is its own deal, that leaves Halo 2 for PC as the only remaining alternative.

NukeULater, I'd suggest trying the Halo 2 Vista General Discussion Forum here. It's a bit quieter, but the most recent posts are always moved to the top. You also have a better chacce of your topic not being locked or ignored due to it being in the appropriate forum. You could also try here: http://www.halo2vista.com/forums/

I would totally join and play if H2 worked on my PC. Last time I installed it, I kept getting errors that refused to launch the game.

i Tried to reverse enginering h2v but failed...

I played Halo 2 Vista and enjoyed every single moment of it. The only flaw was the thing that life recharges (never liked it in any game); aside that, it was a great game. Never understood this hatred.

Most of the hate is due to the fact that most everyone anticipating Halo 2 for Windows Vista thought very certainly it was going to be Halo 2 Custom Edition. What we got instead was a comparatively limited, excessively locked developer kit. Single-player modding (including level creation) was practically impossible and there was no decent way to create new weapons/vehicles/bipeds/etc without exactly rigging them to premade content. While the multiplayer level creation wasn't bad, it lacks the functionality of Halo Custom Edition and you are practically limited to the default inventory of weapons/vehicles/etc. Most all the stuff you see in recent Halo 2 maps are model replacers and nothing with original animations.

Short version:

In comparison to Halo Custom Edition, Halo 2 for Windows' editing kit had limited functionality and the most original content that could be made was a multiplayer level.

I wouldn't hate Halo 2 Vista as much if it at least had a centered crosshair.

Halo 2 vista is the same as xbox one.But another platform.
I know the Live system that was added with halo 2 isn't really good but if u have a Gfwl cd key u can play it without problems.

Then don't mod it. But when it comes to gameplay criticism, I'd expect... you know, gameplay criticism

He has limited editing functionality,but is much powerful than halo ce engine.
Halo 2 Anniversary was made on the same engine like Halo 2 Classic.(tell me if im wrong).

H2v is pretty keewl. Apart from having to patch it if you dont use vista and there is the matter of dat map editor.

I got the problem that shiny objects have a kind of bug that the polygons trip like they are drug addicts, also, some textures aren't Always on the right location xD (that is probably because I didn't follow all parts of the installation tutorial xD)

I only play Halo 2 in Xbox One Cos my Halo 2 Vista is not original.

When I first got this port I lucked out and it ran nice on the hardware I had. Now I cant get the buggy pos to run smoothly no matter what I do.

The POV is a little too low.

You dont even understand what you saying of the engine... h2a (dont know the engine name)only syncs the graphics part.


Yes, only the DEV's version but the public DevKit sucks.look at Spv3 (but,the team prefer focus in gameplay instead of graphics...meh.)
If i want i could add ADD ragdolls better shaders and functions even real time illumination and hdr. (thanks to OS 4.0 source code).

Ive tried so many times to revitalize Halo 2 Vista but the only true way to do it is to reverse engineer the LIVE port structures of the browserlist and create a community one, which for one is a bitch because halo 2 vista cannot be debugged very easily, and 2 I have no time nor the skill level to do that all on my own. as a co creator of shark if ANYONE is interested please contact me, and maybe we can do what the people at Halo Online eldewrito did and what the community did for haloce's browser list.

I have many plans and many things done for halo 2 just Microsoft screws it over by knocking off the browser list every damn month. It's down again.
