I was under the assumption that the codename "Anvil" was an indication of user generated content.

Could be just because according to the lore Halo Online is a training facility named Anvil.

The ship which the training centre *cough, cough cinema* is located in is named anvil.

Hence: "Project Anvil"

Sounds less impressive when you realize average player count went from 30 to 90

It's all moot anyway once MCC comes out for PC. I am told it is likely the recent patch for xbox is to bring it up to speed with the PC version. No idea if cross platform play is planned as I was told it was canned months ago.

Use your brains people, with Microsoft bringing all kinds of previously XBOX exclusive IPs to PC using the Universal Windows Platform, it seems only logical that it's only a matter of time before we see the MCC on PC, Microsoft announced that ALL their new games will be made using this platform, so that probably means that all future halo games will release on PC, in order to successfuly sell new Halo games to PC gamers, Microsoft will surely give them a way to play the games they've missed since H2V, hence the high probability of seeing MCC on PC, my guess is they'll probably release the MCC and Halo 5 on PC either this year or in 2017, another guess is that they'll also bring the 360 backward comp to PC, all that in order to make their marketplace relevant and attractive to PC gamers, I mean the XBOX exclusive games are already here for that purpose, so that'd just be intensifying their strategy, Halo Wars 2 on PC is probably just the first brick of bringing Halo to PC...

Don't you guys understand that Microsoft understood that the xbox and consoles in general are getting less relevant? There is interest in bringing Halo on PC now, so Microsoft will do it...

I'll get the next Halo game on Windows when is not locked behind the Windows Store wall (Forced V-Sync is puke worthy enough) with the modding restrictions UWP has. So never.

I dont like halo games locked at 60-120 fps they play weird... example halo CE at 60fps.

What frame rate do you prefer then, say 30 and I'll laugh at you. :3

Look at the animations, all locked at 25hertz and 30fps

I was going to laugh at you, however I'm just going to ask this instead. Are they really that much of a problem to you that you can't enjoy the game?

Obviously. Perfectionists/purists have zero tolerance.

144fps ftw

having the games on pc would definately be cool... but what about custom content.

forge isnt quite enough for the pc community, ideally i would think you guys would prefer to have halo 3 or reach on pc with a proper port, the actual dev tools minus codebuilding abilitys ofc (cant go too far, it is microsoft afterall), and actual support for our custom content with some sort of voting system for the best player made maps and official community playlists, the ability to play your custom maps on both the xbox and pc platforms woudl be an added plus.

so why settle for a bunch of crapped out pc ports with hardly any support and no editing kit vs what i just explained?

this is what i dont get about the excitement of a mcc port. sure we get all the halo games to play that have been done so far but you sure as hell wont get anything more from them.

Remember when Halo 3 was signed to the Steam Database a few years back? That was most likely referring to (what ended up being) Halo Online.

Probs but Halo 1 and Halo 2 was also signed into the database at the same time Halo 3 was and if so why is Halo Online not on Steam? The questions we need answered.

Cause we settled for them back when they came out and was flat out amazing and I can still replay them with out getting bored, don't know about all the fuss over a editing kit, sure it would be cool and all but theirs still barely any mods on here that have ever gotten my attention besides SPV3 and TSC:E and SPV3 is never coming out but at least TSC:E was fun.

Back when it came out on xbox, sure.
This is a PC consumer crowd with a completely different set of expectations.

Also there are plenty of great maps both single and multiplayer all across the years.
