I use 3dsmax 14 and Bluestreak for Forge World. I generally like using 3dsmax 8 better but it tends to lag once you go past 25,000 polygons. (Which is why I use 14 for this) I'll *try* to reduce the poly count but I think if I reduce it anymore it's going to start looking blocky. Made a low poly version of the rocket launcher for lols: 250 polies (made the model completely from scratch and unwrapped it) Edited by Jesse on Mar 12, 2015 at 04:34 AM

I think all things considered, i'll remove the paradiso map from Forge World. It's simply not quiiite useful enough for me to keep it since I really do have to cut the polygon count down (and I still haven't even added its cliffs or metal tunnel.

I know the water isn't exactly close to the real one but I figured it was a decent enough placeholder for now. I know I have to make it more blue, better waves and seafoam and stuff. As far as I know the limit is 32,000 polies, cutting the Paradiso map would allow me to reach that threshold and not have rendering issues. There is a snowball's chance in hell that I'm removing the (Asylum) section, Hemorrhage, or the Pinnacle island. I may leave a basic island in place of what I remove just so it isn't a barren waterscape, but don't expect much more than a giant mound of sand. Perhaps I can even create custom maps in that section. I think If I properly ported Forge World that I can make future map releases using it as a base (don't worry about explosive damage and scenery, I've got a fix for that.)

Possibly have the Island as a standalone map (as in divorced from the rest of the forge world parts) in the future? It would be cool to have some big CTF game on it.

Though this may not seem like an immediate patch in accordance to the aforementioned tris limits.
But why not make a series of multiplayer maps?
I.e 1 mp map would be the main forge world section, the second map would be paradiso island, and so on and so forth.
Although perhaps this would seem like too much work?
Still as fun as it is to collect extremely scary horror novels which include abject nudity, it would be fun to "collect" a series of mp maps.
Think harry potter novels but a halomaps version.

I do also like Flankers idea "Even though I think someone needs some sleep, reading the post till the end was like the descent of madness :D" of splitting to get the complete map set, with also a "almost complete" Forge World.
But in the end it will be amazing, Jesse is Halo Maps Messiah! XD

Fixed up the FP arms a bit: Made new shaders from scratch because the previous ones used some ridiculous jumble of normals(as detailmaps) and colorchanging and weird stuff that I can't make sense out of. Anyway, I re-did all that, it looks better with the proper smoothing applied, and now I just have to fix the color changing on the little knobs in the forearm.

It's good work but I don't think you should credit this yourself. Bungie deserve a lot more man
Everything you see it's been done by bungie. I understand porting and rigging was hard but the rest was already done for you.

Could anyone tell me how I can get this watch\iPod to have a flexible band? It's going to be a part of a custom set of FP arms, but I knew I'd have to be able to place the model once I made it.. Anyway, help would be appreciated. (maybe it could use bones and IK controllers for maximum awesomeness? :D UVs, diffuse and specmap This was also done as modeling and unwrapping practice. I did my best to make sure that the UVs were all proportional and whatnot. Edited by Jesse on Apr 4, 2015 at 02:21 AM

Edited by Jesse on Apr 4, 2015 at 02:21 AM Do you mean just putting it on the arm or do you mean have it move during an animation such as walking? If you mean just putting it on the arm, you could use the bend modifier if you are using 3dsmax. Edited by Spiral on Apr 4, 2015 at 02:45 AM

Got some stuff done for my FP arms: (rigged the watch band to be flexible) Almost finished modeling the glove Testing of the watch on the wrist: I still need to finish modeling the rest of the glove parts, unwrap it all, and texture it. oh, and then rig the arms of course.
