I've been trying to get The Halo Reach Forge World map into CE for about a week now. I can get the hemorrhage section in without any problems, but then once I add the higher cliffs (and the rest of the map sections) Tool starts to act up like this: I'm not sure what the problem is, exactly. The map is perfectly sealed, polycount is 70,000, all other IG objects are deleted (only the core BSP is going in-game for now). Anybody know the solution? I've used both 3dsmax 8 and 3dsmax 2014 to try getting this in-game and neither have worked. Is it too highpoly? If so, is there an OS method to get it to work?

How can I separate it into clusters?
I created some portals and the errors went from 3 to one. I continued forward but no luck getting it ingame yet. Edited by Jesse on Feb 6, 2015 at 04:50 AM

Please go finish your other projects while I tackle the instances of this map. Edit: water is white cuz of bad lightmaps atm. Another Edit: That was ingamed in 3 hours a while ago. Edited by Maiku3 on Feb 6, 2015 at 11:41 AM

Does anyone here feel they have the capacity to possibly portal this map for me if I can't succeed in it myself? Or possibly optimize the level (I don't trust myself to do it without ruining everything.) No such luck even with this: What's the difference between clusters and portals? It seems my portals worked. I worked on the water with the fog and some waves. That extra lake is there because... well, for planes are quite a pain. I can remove the fog from that cluster specifically, but then the fog disappears from the ocean from that point of view as well (while within the no-fog cluster). If you received any of these in your debug feedback
"### WARNING unearthed edge (magenta boxed lines)"
"### ERROR: portal does not define two closed spaces. (see yellow in error geometry)"
"### WARNING: a surface clipped to no leaves (see cyan in error geometry)"
But the map still compiles fine it doesn't mean your portals were successful it just means your portals screwed up but you won't really be able to detect this within the map since the portals don't work.
(Note "broken portals" or portals which clip the map in half at a certain distance from the player are portals which do work but have been used incorrectly in correspondence with the bsp)
