I want to complain but at the same time I can't because I understand this is a hard task, and what you do takes immense amounts of skill and determination. Besides, I'd rather have a polished map that one full of bugs...
Question, though.

I noticed on the list, "AR/GL" and "Shredder"
"GL"
"Shredder"
whatdis

Is the Shredder the new Spiker replacement we saw hinted in the SPV3 trailer?

The Shredder is a type of ammunition, big boy. Im gunna have me some fun with these bullets.

Sounds Similar to the R.I.P rounds that were released earlier last year for 9mm handguns and rifles. Interesting.

I didn't even know of those, but yeah, its like almost the exact same idea. Sheesh, I looked at that super cheesily voiced G2R Ammunition video of the RIP rounds, and that thing would be a total 1 shot kill.

Jacketed hollowpoint rounds have been around for a while, and while, canonically, "shredder" is often used to refer to a specific type of ammunition in the Halo universe, I'm not sure that the same context is being used when CMT refers to the "Shredder".

^ Exactly. I am aware of the 'Shredder' rounds used in the Halo Universe, but they refer to the Shredder as a new Brute Weapon, though undoubtedly using inspiration from said ammo type as can be inferred from their description of it.

I wish that some day we could have 60 or above fps animations in this game instead of 30

We've never said anything about it being a new brute weapon, thats all the community. We are moving away from brute specific weapons.

I seem to recall someone saying it does a lot of damage to soft targets, but not to shields. And it was supposed to show how Brutes work in a pack...? I dunno, you guys are like the NSA. You can neither confirm nor deny anything.

That's true for the SPV3 version, for Evolved it is totally different and other than appearance and some animations, has nothing to do with anything you think you know about the SPV3 version. But it's not a Brute weapon for either one.

Well if it's not a Brute weapon, with a name like the "Shredder," my mind goes to some sort of UNSC light machine (or rotary) gun with a high rate of fire. That sounds like something Brutes might be fond of capturing and utilizing.

IIRC it's not just the animations, but the physics calculations and cutscene camera movement that tick over at 30fps. I'm pretty sure the old Blam engine was coded with the expectation that everything would be locked at 30, so unless the Opensauce devs figure out some really clever tricks with the engine (and they've already stated their intention not to pursue this goal), it's really unlikely it's ever going to happen unfortunately.

so if there are no "unique" brute centric weapons? what makes the brutes as a whole unique enemies?

I really don't want to speak for Evolved, but Evolved does have the Spiker and Brute Shot. For both projects, Brutes are their own species with different behaviors and health systems and methods of fighting. If you want details for the SPV3 version, take it to the "CMT Returns" thread, if someone from Evolved wants to go into further detail here I am sure they will.

I know it may not be possible or if they could even be able to do anything about it, but I wonder if the CE community could somehow request this from the people who made the most recent CE patch, along with maybe some other stuff that were not completely intergraded into Halo pc that Halo console had.

They said they'd update the list every day, but it hasnt been updated in 3 days...........Either something secret is happening or they're too caught up in their work. I kinda hope its both. :D

Well they did say some items on the list are "scarier" than others, and we can assume that means they're either bad for the game if they aren't patched or just really hard to fix.

The more easy and simple things we manage to cross off the list, the more it shows what the real tasks remaining are. I'm still spending many hours a day lighting and fixing up bits of bsp on the side. Real life also gets in the way. But progress continues, don't fear.

If it makes you feel better: as pretty much everything on the list isn't my job (other than those large waterfall VFX, which are harder than one might think, mostly due to engine issues that may or may not be reasonably circumventable), I'm spending quite a bit of time this week working on some special fun things that almost certainly wouldn't have got in if we'd shipped earlier. The one upshot to a super protracted development cycle like this is it means we get the time to cram all kinds of neat extras into neat places - there should be a fair amount of additional entertainment value after the first playthrough beyond simply repeating for better performance.

As mentioned, the decrease in item completion rate mostly serves to highlight what the "real" big to-dos are. As the weekend rolls around there should be a lot more free time for us all to leap on those big suckers and wrangle them off the list.

You could try, faking the water using animated sprites, containing some form of foggy spray. It works for me, however you need around 30 or 40 particles to be created to sell the effect.

Yeah I know, I was joking around. Everything isnt just a list, things that might seem simple, like create a new waterfall, sound like such a quick job, but when you get into depth on how exactly you create this "waterfall", its really not a short job at all. Ive done my fair share of retextures for vehicles on Arma 2 and such, and even that takes a long time. Not to mention real life events outside of the level development can get in the way, and obviously that takes priority over anything else. If you're working, work, don't bother to interrupt your work to update the list, finish the work and then update as a nice surprise to show us how much you've worked on! :D

one has good graphics but sucks, the other is easy but can lag without proper optimization

Mhm. We should all take a moment of silence for those who died in the attacks.
