So, with wonderful HAC2 I was able to run Halo at my resolution, and choose my field of view. I like that, but I don't know what is right, I have mine at 100 degrees zoomed out, now normally I would say 90 is fine, but the Plasma rifle looks zoomed in til you hit about 100-105. Then also when I join a reach map, or modded map, It is incredibly zoomed out, any recommendations?

I stick with 95 degrees, anything higher and you start to see the edges of the FP model when melee-ing with certain weapons (notably sniper rifle). Been using that setting for years

What's the best FOV for MLG players?

The FOV doesn't make you pro, the pros adjust their FOV as they get better or need more.

Yes, but at 95, you still cannot see most of the Plasma Rilfe

I play on 110°. Works really well for me. One thing, if you are playing ffa snipers on small maps you are at a severe disadvantage if you are using a lower fov(like 90 or below). I wouldn't play on anything above 120°, the fp arms with some tagsets break too much. I would use 110° if you play at 16:9, and 100° if you play at 4:3.

That's what Halo 1's plasma rifle looks like. 95 degrees seems to be most accurate to the original Xbox version, from what I remember. Again, anything more than this and you can see the edges of the FP arms during too many animation. Even at 95 you can see the edges during some of the rocket launcher anims.

i prefer to play in 90º because i hate so much to see the edges of the fp but you can test at different FOVs

but when i am playing competetively then i always go with 115 fov

Natural Human FOV is around 103 degrees. Personally i prefer 90 (in animating and playing, namely animating). Halo's standard FOV is 70 tho, so eh
