I don't get what you're trying to show, why are you comparing H1 AR animations to a fan made H2E3 BR?

How is it fan made...? Unless Zteam made it then...

Because the fan-made one (aka, CAD's I believe?) copied the reload of the real one. Let's you see how they differ.

And yes, copied (Unless someone comes out and says they are imported from deep within Halo 2). I've further inspected the reloads and although this copy is close, there are some finger/hand placement discrepancies I have found. For whatever reasons.

They are CAD's animations I believe. Even the leaked beta of Halo 2 doesn't use those animations, so I don't know how he could have gotten them.

Yeah, I guess so. This is really a good copy. I am directly comparing them (with this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8NgQM8Ejl4 ).

Sure as hell better than the 1,000's of different Halo 3 Assault Rifle attempts, if it looks that good just after one time recreating the Halo 2 E3 Battle Rifle.

zteam ripped the actual e3 br. (With the actual anims) you should get back to it :D
That's not the actual one as far as I saw, it looked like CAD just copied the animations as I had been doing.

I was told there legit.

They very well might be. The smack-in seems to be just as weak looking as it was in the demo, same with the sway of the walk. The only thing that throws me off is the fingers at this one point when they reach for the mag after pulling the ophandle back, they aren't spread open in the same way but this is all I could really find. Too lazy to show.

Whether or not they're real, they're close enough that I don't care much when saying "it's different from Halo 1's reload."

Speaking of animations, I also wanted to remake all of Halo 1's animations from scratch but I never really got far past the AR and pistol.

I always wanted to do a short (like, three or four level) campaign set in the insurrection that explores the mental trauma of tragedy. My plan was to start with the player escaping from his prison cell and encountering an ONI captain. This would lead back to the level where the player+squad rig up a possible weapons cache and detonate the building only to find out there were civilians there that were hiding from the fighting. Later the player would murder his squad when they were about to fire on civilians in a town, as per the Oni Captain who just took over's orders, causing him to be hunted and detained by the UNSC. After an attempted prison break, the captain would tell the player that there were no civilians and that the captain was just a face the player made to put the blame of the first civilian incident on. When the player calls the captain a liar, he dares the player to shoot him (this part would involve fighting off hallucinations of all the people killed by the player). The instant the player kills the captain, it would cut to a cinematic showing that the player shot himself.

It sounds better when I'm not tired or leaving out most of the details that are somewhat vital to the plot. Also, I get that it sounds pretty similar to Spec Ops The Line, shut up, I was thinking of this before I played that game.

The part about the weapons cache, prison break and all that psychological stuff with your characters... That actually sounds a LOT like what I had in mind with what I said earlier o.o

Arghh.. I really wish I had the resources and time to make my campaign a thing T.T I even have a half-written script for it, too...

+1 this topic

I never had any ideas on maps I wanted to make but now that I think about it maybe a map where everyone would hang out on and just toy around like in Team Fortress.

I wanted to do a replacement for c20 (The Library sucks) on the b30 bsp, under the name c30. Covenant have the index with them in the maproom searching for the control room. You and a group of marines are dropped off at the entrance to the shaft and fight your way down. After retrieving the index you encounter covenant that followed you down fighting off flood. More flood crawls from the depths of the shaft and become increasingly persistent. At the surface, you go to the security station for Cortana to configure it as a beacon for extraction. At a marked point, you fight off small groups of incoming flood from the shaft. You see a pelican, but as it comes in, it crashes and flood come from the wreckage during a cutscene (much like that where the Flood arrive in High Charity). Increasing hordes of flood attack. When all hope seems lost, 343 Guilty Spark, having detected the beacon, arrives (yeah, yeah. doesn't make sense with the end of c10, I don't care). You are then teleported and the level ends.
I started it years ago, but my PC at the time didn't allow for the ability to create the map. (watching the video labeled 'Old PC' below will show you why) After I built a new PC, I wasn't as interested, but still recompiled for gameplay comparison.
Old PC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3kZjYJe60E0
New PC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrsw2LBQJXQ

I also wanted to do a single player mission based in the Stargate universe, playing as a member of a SG team. But the furthest I went was ingaming a gate tag someone made.

Ive been thinking about doing a huge maze where you have to get to the end, with very few checkpoints, health packs, and ammo, oh, and did i mention flood are trying to kill you?

Why Doom 3 and quake 4, those were trash compared to the older games. Doom 3 was like a dumb version of System Shock 2 with bad jump scares and quake 4 was a shadow of the former glory of the series. I rather have a classic shooter type mod rather than a port of Doom and Quake considering there are already many source ports for Doom and Quake is on steam. A mod where the player runs around with god weapons at 50 mph could be fun in Halo though.

My dream is simple, create a competitive multiplayer map which everyone enjoys. Something small - Battlcreek style, but slightly more roomier to accommodate lesser vehicles something along the lines of a few mongoose's accompanied by some Ghosts.

Most importantly I would like all the (original) Halo 3 weapons, animations, effects, pretty much the whole hog in the map. Most importantly I would like all the damage values, animation physics e.t.c set to perfection.

Lastly I would like the cache file to be lower than 100mb.

I've always wondered why nothing from the books has ever really made the transition into CE. There are all sorts of singleplayer levels with their own plots and objectives and whatnot available on Halomaps, but you'd think that it'd be a little bit easier, at least in the plot department, to just pull an event from one of the books and make something based on that, instead of having to come up with something on your own.

I posted a campaign thingey that integrated events from the books at least twice on my other account, but like Sniper said there's very little incentive to retrace steps that have already been trodden when you can make your own. A big part of the creative process is that prospect of doing what you want, when you want...honing that into something you can discipline and manipulate to serve a higher goal is what separates hobbyists from designers, be they professional or otherwise.

On the thread - everything I've ever done. It's kinda sad, really. I've hung around here for at least three years but have never actually finished anything worthwhile.
