New updates.


Just to clear things up, does this mean everything that has been uploaded between the last update and now has been lost/deleted? Or will it just take some time to go through everything (like the 100 johnlex mods)?

It's no problem I can just reupload my map.

Nothing was lost. There are 10 gigs and over 200 files to review and process. It will take some time to catch up and I hope to do a little each night. They will become available in a no particular order so newer stuff and older stuff may come out together.

People should watch the twitter feed on the home page of the Halo Maps website to see if their map was rejected and why.

Just sayin Sir Dennis you shouldn't bother to upload maps if people don't even bother to make a Description of what it's about, what's in it and why we should try it out, it's just wasting your space.

I understand you don't test YELO files but since HMU has like 20 maps in the catalog I was going through them and the currently new Halomaps files and it turns out




Fy Killzone Yelo won't startup.

This error means (at least I think)
A) The map make didn't properly compile his YELO file
B) There was a folder containing more YELO files that somehow didn't make it to the end download. Without these additional files, this map is unplayable.
C) Im doing something wrong.

Welcome back Dennis, Dratt and I got to experience what it's like to be for you while you were "Away". Lets just say I don't envy you for all the crap maps you have to test, but i am still envious for all the cool maps. It was quite enjoyable. So if you ever want to take a break again We'll all be here waiting and be able to strive this community forward.

Everything was fixed but the energy sword light bug (energy sword's glow gets bigger the farther you are away from it). but that's because I only discovered it two weeks later after uploading.

No more recorded animation errors in the campaign or corrupt bitmaps/sound tags. Every error anyone ever has when starting off a fresh tag set has been addressed. I worked on it for about two months and double checked just about everything so it should work fine. Plus I included a document containing most errors people will get stuck on when modding maps and the campaign along with how to fix them.

Basically if you've ever had an issue with the ghost's tag set or a scratch tag set, you can now just download this tagset and get on with your modding escapades error/bug free.

What errors? I've only had the most insignificant errors, like the monitor and sentinel shields...


You're one of the lucky ones.

Simple mistakes and glitched tags can break entire tag sets when starting out.

Some common bugs and errors are:
-corrupt sounds/bitmaps/animation tags
-Bugged vehicle physics and recorded animations
-The exception access violation errors that can result from scenario extraction from hek+ and restrict the opening of scenarios
-Corrupt scorpion tags that correspondingly break your globals and therefore disabling your entire tagset (this error is really tricky to detect if you don't know what to look for)
-Actor variants can have invalid grenade values that disable ai grenade throwing
-the monitor can come out bugged and crash any level that uses it

The list goes on
