I'm wondering when the forum will get so bad to the point where whatever is left might need to migrate to a new site. Then again, Dennis has been running this thing for a while and could probably use a break from this place anyways.

If shooting avatars in Halo (not even photos of the users, just stock images that the users have chosen to represent themselves with. That any user could choose to represent themselves with.) is, to you, representative of murder, then I can only imagine how you must feel about the FPS genre in general, which most often depicts killing of three-dimensional, humanoid targets, rather than two-dimensional bitmaps.

We're not killing avatars in the majority of first person shooter games, we're killing bipeds that look like human beings, that have facial expressions, that can cry out when wounded. Do you somehow think shooting mobile posters of avatars is more severe than that?

Do you think calling everything "retarded," or "moron," or telling people to kill themselves is friendly?

The fact that this is the last Halo CE forum with a decent amount of active users saddens me a bit. While many great things happen in this forum, the same toxicity that games are always criticized about is shown by a few people who I won't name. In Pyro's defense, he is showing a point that needs to be addressed in order for this forum to continue thriving, even if his way of showing his point offends some people. In all reality Dennis shouldn't even be needed to control the toxicity here, and I guarantee that when he comes back, he will be aggravated with having to deal with such childish things.

but i do agree with your statement, there has been a lack of quality stuff being shown, but that is most likely due to the fact that the big projects are still beign worked on. there are two halo 3 projects in progress right now (that i know of). i have a remake of rats nest in the works and jesse is now working on the pit. most of the time you can find some quality work being put out on this site, you just have to filter through the other stuff that doesnt appeal to your tastes.

i have three things to say to all the new people (and some of the older members as well)

1: realize that there is a time to be mature and a time to be immature, you have to be able to discern as to when those times are.

2: dont worry about people critiquing your work, isn't that the whole point of posting your wip? also make sure that you put some time into it before you post it. create quality not quantity.

3: do not take anything that someone says to you personally, that said person may be dealing with other stuff in their life that may cause them to want to bring you down.

never argue with an idiot. they will bring you down to their level and beat you with experiance

Honestly, do people enjoy causing grief and slinging insults at each other? Do they just refuse to grow up and have some decency? They try to hide their childishness with big words and 'smart' sentences but they're all still just bullies on the playground.

Dennis is one of the few people on this forum with the discipline and patience to deal with all this crap, and yet you take that for granted and don't even care about rules. You disrespect authority, insult them even, and still Dennis goes out of his way to tell you time and again to GROW UP.
