Sometimes the most deceitful can be good.

Hi, I am having technical difficulties with the haloceded application.

When I go to open the Haloceded application the black Halo Console box opens, and I get another white box that pops up and says "Gathering Exception Data."

After that the Halo Console application comes up with an error saying "Halo has stopped working." (Although, even it says that Halo has stopped working, halo still does work, its just Halo Console that doesn't)

Thanks in advance for any help.

haloceded is used to create dedicated multiplayer servers. You need to open ports in your router and all that plus add exceptions in your firewall before it can work. Idk why it is exceptioning though. Try running it as admin and disabling any hacks e.g: optic, opensauce, etc.

To know exactly what's wrong, we need to see the debug.txt.

Maybe try running it in compatibility mode, or try a reinstall in case mods you have for Halo CE are adversely affecting the dedicated server application. Also, have you actually set up the server properly? If you haven't got a file telling it to run a map + game type, it might just not load anything and exception because of this. Exceptions probably aren't caused by port/router issues, but if you haven't managed to get the server running yet you'll probably need to do that at one point. If all else fails, try and do a double install, one with the game that you can use to play, and one for the server with no modifications. Also make sure you have the amount of system resources free that the server application wants; some other servers I've ran just don't start if you don't have the minimum required RAM free, etc.

EDIT: This should be in the Halo CE General Discussion forum.
