Look even better if the micro normal maps weren't broken. Were those released as well?

I'd like to hear some reasons other then "it divides the community" or "it makes my pc lag"

yup, those are pretty broad reasons. Besides, who was able to max out halo way back in 2003? anyone?
I betcha it's because when people go around ripping OS_tags, it breaks the shader_extensions, leaving anyone who wanted to play -independent firefight maps- with OS installed out of the picture.
It really does divide the community, but only if you can't muster the effort to just go into the shader_model of your ripped tags and just delete the addon shader :/

Quote: --- Original message by: DSalimander Seeing fantastic looking guns on a dull boring level (which is usually the case) doesnt look good. in the end OS just isn't worth my time to use. if this then separates me from the community so be it; if i make a map, it will be non-OS. That is a valid reason I'd have to say. However the upgraded features of the shader_environment is making great progress, we will see how people fair with that, since it requires making lightmaps in max.

I assume that the Mantis will eventually be configured for one arm having the co-axial turret gun, and the other will feature the cannon?
