This team is working on porting Halo into Crysis 2.
It's called Project Venerance.
Sorry, btw, the images load a bit slowly.

Technically, it's Halo-related so.. Yep. Much respect to these guys.

Lawsuit incoming.

No, Microsoft doesn't care about H1... unless it's ported to someone else's engine. Then... *puts on sunglasses* the world will burn.

Actually, Microsoft gave them an explicit right of passage. The mod is a go.

You mean the Microsoft Game Content Usage Rules...? As long they aren't doing it for profit of course its fine. This has been done a million times in the past in Cryengine, not surprised to see it again.

Halo-sis was cancelled. They were non-profit.

I've seen this before and talked to the developers. It's based off the Sigma Octanus part of The Fall of Reach. So yes, that's MC in the OP.
This is why I wish cryengine worked on my PC.
Makes me wonder though: can they really capture the unique Halo feeling with the Crysis Engine?

You could capture the superhuman performance of a Spartan better in Crysis than you can in Halo.

Exactamundo! You have access to sprint (which every spartan should have), super-strength (also inheritable to spartan soldiers), cloaking (also in the Halo universe) and enhanced armour (That's a check, there)
If Halo ran in the Cryengine, it'd be much more accurate to the books that portray it. Also, with use of the beautiful engine and the vast abilities of it, the need for matte-painting landscapes would be gone (not that I didn't like those)
Point is, with such vast opportunities, they can push Halo to it's limit. I love the MkIV permutation as well. Mjolnir armour permutations were always awesome to me.

We'll have to be more stealthy, cuz the MkIV doesn't have shields. But I agree, the Halo Wars armor is just amazing. Ensemble did a great job on its design.

Stealth is already quite important for survival in Crysis.

Getting shot from all directions is not fun.

Yeah, but if you dodge and weave around it all, you look like a badass.

Well, I've always sort of known about them but this caught my eye. Venerance has it's own site and it's own forum, now. The latest update was around late march.

If you evade an small army without being detected, you're still a badazz.
