I would like to see a tutorial on:
1. How to add a laser targeter effect to the UMP.
2. A more advanced animations tutorial. (with some curve editor stuff)
3. You hinted at a more indepth muzzle flash tutorial.(however your current one is totally fine)
4. Ohhh and that custom weapon ammo powerup tutorial.
Pretty much it I think.
Im not waiting by my LT for these tutorials to materialize so for the sake of quality and awsomness please dont rush, take your time! Excellent, I will use that as my current to-do list for tutorials. the ammo powerup is super easy I can probably make that one very soon, so I'll start there.

Even if there is already an existing tutorial for something you can still request it here and I will add it to the list.
I'll try to get some more tutorials made soon, I've just been a little busy lately.

Not to be rude klasher1000 but there are a ton of tutorial on http://www.youtube.com/user/HaloVideoTutorials for skinning, though it also depends on the program your using.

I really don't care whether or not there are already tutorials on the subject. If someone makes a request I will try to add it to the list (so long as it is something that I know how to do).
I personally use 3ds max 2010.

Quote: --- Original message by: klasher1000 Oops *bump* any updates Yoda? I'm working on a character tutorial that covers rigging, compiling, and tagging (I'm providing the model and texture because I don't think I'm qualified to cover biped modeling.) I should be able to finish it up soon, I just need to find the time. After that I intend to knock out the tactical laser tutorial. That one should be relatively short and easy, but I'm trying to figure out how to make it a little cooler than what has been done before. Edit: Please post something after this comment so that I can post again when I finish the tutorial. :D Edited by Yoda on Jun 7, 2013 at 02:24 PM

I would wager that making a custom map is possibly the easiest thing you could achieve in a limited time frame. anything below 3dsmax 2010 works fine. However. You may use an up to date version of max then export your scene (once it is complete) as an OBJ + MTL then open it in a lower version of max which various exporters like and.... well export your model

I use 3ds max 2010 with no problem, and I don't have to export an obj to open in an earlier version. I use chimp or bluestreak to export my maps. I believe Blitzkrieg only works on 2008 or older. Not positive though. I have never used it.

There is no need of reexporting to OBJ.

Yoda, I would love a tutorial on creating a reload animation. I'm having trouble with the whole magazine section of the reload. I can't seem to get the magazine to move with the hand too well. I link the magazine to the left wrist controller, and I can then animate the magazine with the arm, but then Tool gives me an error about how that (reload) animation doesn't fit the node structuring of my other animations.
I also would like if you showed how to do a melee similar to the H1 pistol melee. I have trouble separating the gun from the right hand and making them move independently (I don't know if I have to unlink frame gun from frame r wriste).

Okay, lets see if I can answer all the recent comments here:
@rcghalohell: If you want a mapping tutorial, just ask. I am perfectly willing to add that to my list. As for what programs you need, look at the description on the first video of my weapon creation tutorial. It contains a complete list of what you need plus download links.
@Tiel: Blitzkreig is freaking amazing, but you can't get a student version of those older versions of max as far as I know so I use 2010 with bluestreak.
@Jesse: It is important to link the left wrist controller to the frame magazine and then animate the magazine, not vise versa. You should never mess with the links of the frames in your scene, but you can do whatever you want with the controllers. That whole method is technically a bit of a "cheat", the proper way to do both reloads and a melee like you described (especially the melee) would be using link constraints. I have a request for an advanced FP animations tutorial already, so I can make sure to cover your requests in detail in that tutorial.
@ASCENDANTJUSTICE: Sorry you have meat poisoning... that sucks.
I think that covers it. Sorry I haven't finished my biped tutorial yet, but I've been very busy lately. Hopefully I will get that wrapped up soon and move on to the next request. (like before, please post a comment after this so that I can post again when I complete the tutorial.)

I think a tutorial on porting weapons would be helpful (or something else along those lines, like how to get a weapon in-game).

In case you don't want to look through every single video in that tutorial (I know, its very long). Here is a rough guide: videos 1-6 cover modelling the weapon. videos 7-9 cover unwrapping (goes over a little into 10 as well). videos 10-17 cover texturing. videos 18-26 cover animation (goes over a few minutes into 27). videos 27-29 cover sound FX and tagging. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
