Quote: --- Original message by: Echo77 It may not be great, but it's efinitely not one of the worst. Many people give that title to the .30-06 variant of he WWI-era Chauchat LMG.
Okay, well in my opinion its one of the worst Firearms ever made. But you can at least say its one of the worst Assault Rifles ever made.
Who wants a long, heavy, inaccurate rifle that jams constantly. The whole point in the bullpup design is to reduce the overall length of the rifle while maintaining accuracy. The Famas is bullpup, full length, AND inaccurate... HOW is that even possible?!?! lol.
Stargate SG-1 used a variety of weapons. When the series started they always traveled through the gate with a relatively large team (each with different weapons.) As the series progressed they sort of standardized things by lowering the number of team members to 4 and using the MP5 almost exclusively. In the last couple of seasons they switched from the MP5 to the P90.
Stargate Atlantis used a couple of weapons, but the main team primarily used P90s. (the marines that sometimes went with them used the M4 and occasionally a M249).
The P90 is compact, ergonomic, reliable, accurate, and loads 50 5.7x28mm rounds in a single magazine. This made it ideal for the environments in Stargate Atlantis. The 5.7x28mm round is small and high velocity, it can penetrate light body armor.
Just for the record, the FAMAS is large, uncomfortable, unreliable, inaccurate, and basically just one of the worst firearms ever designed.
Also, the stargate program in the series is an extension of the United States air force. Although they do develop an international oversight organization somewhere along the way in SG-1. (which is why the Atlantis team is so much more diverse).
Lol, sorry for the long post.
I think the Stargate Franchise holds a lot of cool ideas for Halo modding. I just don't have time to work with Halo much any more.
Dude, that is epic!
Did you model those?
Back when I got started modding Halo I had hoped to eventually do a massive Stargate project. But it never worked out for me. I hope whatever you are planning with these works out. Good luck with your project!
I know it's been ages, I just haven't had time for Halo lately. Maybe one of these days I'll get back to it, but I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. Sry.

(If you are not familiar with the show then do an image search for "Stargate Atlantis City" its freaking huge)
Is jawa your brother? e: necro, sorry. I forgot we're two years ahead. Edited by BKTiel on Jul 28, 2014 at 03:22 PM
Wow this is an old thread.
Every so often I do a search for "Yoda" to see if anyone is asking me a question (or talking behind my back :D ). Was surprised to see this one.
Yea, Jawa is my little brother.
no problem, glad I could help.
Fully expand the hierarchy for the bone structure and post of picture of it.
bone 24 needs to be the "top" of your hierarchy and all bones should be attached directly to another bone.
If you want your upper arm bones to move separately you can create a controller object and apply a position constraint.
take a look at my arm rigging tutorial to better understand how it should be set up: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsYFcdY5bHyI-O9TO8PEqoU_ObhqTvq_U&feature=mh_lolz
Specifically part 2 from 3:09 onward to see the part about contraints: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AE3jf_SDVlY&list=PLsYFcdY5bHyI-O9TO8PEqoU_ObhqTvq_U#t=189
The author has been changed (thanks Dennis).
In the long run I guess it doesn't really matter very much, it just really irks me when people take credit for something they didn't do.
A friend on the forum brought this to my attention, some idiot is uploading my tutorials and listing himself as the author.
http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=6701 http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=6715
I made these tutorials quite a while back and released them in my tutorial thread here on the forum: http://forum.halomaps.org/index.cfm%3Fpage=topic&topicID=42693&start=1
and also on my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZXCB5-qadk https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsYFcdY5bHyIEj38SFXPRgTCqItJMyLRi
and also on my moddb page: http://www.moddb.com/members/ncc-1701/blogs
On top of the fact that this guy was stupid enough to take credit for someone elses work he also forgot to include part 3 of the character tutorial (he only added parts 1 and 2).
Has anyone else had this problem? Is this "Thefooler" person a member here on the forum? Anyone know him? Is there anything that can be done about stuff like this?
Quote: --- Original message by: Ki11erFTW I never understood why people had trouble unwrapping, it's pretty straightforward imo
Its not difficult but it is time consuming, and many people find it unbearably boring.
@sshers4: Sorry I wasn't able to get your tutorial request done like I planned, things got busy and I wasn't able to get the software I needed working on the spare laptop I was using. My new hard drive arrived and I'm in the process of getting my main laptop back up and running, so I will try to make the tutorial soon.
Yea I can make a tutorial for that.
The laptop I generally use for tutorials suffered a hard drive crash, so I'm on an old spare. I will try to get audacity and a recorder installed on it later today and make the tutorial either today or tomorrow if I can.
Unfortunately I am really bad at unwrapping bipeds, so I don't think I can make a tutorial for that.
What exactly do you mean by custom voice effect? Do you just want to clean up recorded audio for voice acting, or add some sort of effects to a recording?

No problem hoped it helped.
@Yoda: Is it possible to use more than 6 different vehicles within a map? Edited by ASCENDANTJUSTICE on Mar 15, 2014 at 08:22 AM
I believe you can do it through scripting, but I have never needed more than 6 so I've never personally tried it.
Its not a huge deal I can replace the hard drive, and fortunately I did manage to run a backup before it crashed.
I would like to get some more tutorials done soon, but I'm not sure when I'll have time. In addition to my busy schedule I just suffered a hard drive crash, so at the moment my laptop (which is the computer that I do most of my Halo stuff on) is out of commission.
Quote: --- Original message by: ASCENDANTJUSTICEPart 2 of modifying ammunition counts is completed! (check the first post) I went over some stuff I did in the original tutorial just because I had a few requests to do so, sorry about this. Instead of using the HEK+ Which some people find confusing to use. (No idea why) I resorted to posting a link to the Halo pc Sp tagset, released by theghost and monoxidec. Which includes all of the necessary files and folders you need to mod any default map scenario file of your choosing. Simply download to your desktop and extract into your tags folder. On a side note, I do not understand this error my clan friend is getting when he wants to build a cache file. I have never come across it before, does anyone have a remedy? https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/v/t34/1960273_635818996485689_1668308226_n.jpg?oh=860187c4b1e16c713abe8ecb48c52eb6&oe=5312D76E&__gda__=1393757985_0c677200280fcb751133f59ab1b1fa79_____________________________________________________________________________ His debug \/ 02.28.14 22:14:08 tool pc 01.00.00.0609 ---------------------------------------------- 02.28.14 22:14:08 reference function: _write_to_error_file 02.28.14 22:14:08 reference address: 42ca20 02.28.14 22:14:08 Couldn't read map file './toolbeta.map' 02.28.14 22:14:08 EAX: 0xCACACACA 02.28.14 22:14:08 EBX: 0x03F20001 02.28.14 22:14:08 ECX: 0x0000040B 02.28.14 22:14:08 EDX: 0x02000000 02.28.14 22:14:08 EDI: 0x0013A358 02.28.14 22:14:08 ESI: 0x00000000 02.28.14 22:14:08 EBP: 0x0013A230 02.28.14 22:14:08 ESP: 0x0013A220 02.28.14 22:14:08 EIP: 0x7C90E514, C3 8D A4 24 ????? 02.28.14 22:14:08 EXCEPTION halt in \halopc\haloce\source\cache\cache_file_builder.c,#109: !((unsigned long)scratch&31) Edited by ASCENDANTJUSTICE on Feb 28, 2014 at 11:57 AM
Did you ever find a fix for that error? I've never seen that one before.

I'll add it to my list, but I can't promise when I'll have time to get it done.

Exactly!

The fact that Dennis laughed is not really all that extraordinary, it has been proved in the past that he does in fact have a sense of humor... the truly remarkable thing is that I think this time he was laughing *with* us as opposed to *at* us

^ That's probably a good idea.
