Hey guys, I just wanted to know how you can change a biped's visor and armor color. For instance: Can i do this? Make the spartan's primary color blue and make his secondary white? Can I change the visor color to black or silver? I want to use this biped for instance. http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/3782/spartane.png

Are you sure it isn't one of these options? and as for the visor.... can't I just change the visor color by changing the visor shader model? http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/8175/visorandcolo.png Also the spartan i sent in the first link... it's secondary color changes randomly to purple,red,blue,white etc. Can I fix that?

you can change the visor's shader_model if you have one in the color you want. and yeah, that's what i meant when i said force_color_change or whatever.

In Color Change primary color is C in color change. IF and only IF the biped supports secondary color it will be D in color change. For the visor you would have to use a bitmap extractor (search on halomaps for one) and extract the visor bitmap. Then in an image editor program you would have to change the visor color there. Save the image as a .TIFF file and then use the bitmap command in tool (look up "tool +" if you need help running tool commands) and replace the old bitmap in the shader with your new one At least that's how I'd do it. Of course cubemaps will play a big part in visor color as well but if your visor is gold already then it won't help much already Edited by MatthewDratt on Dec 31, 2012 at 04:28 AM

You can open the "visor.shaders model" Go at the end, you can change the cubemap and the reflection properties. After change the color permutation like said matthewdratt ! It's simple, and you can make pretty nice things :)

Not sure. Is it from the bitmap extractor? Try another one. There are a ton released. If you can't find another just google. File front has a few different ones I believe
Hek Plus? If it's that try a few different version of that Edited by MatthewDratt on Jan 1, 2013 at 11:20 PM

Yeah it was the bitmap extractor. I changed the bitmap and made the file :) . Can I use cmd to make it a bitmap file or should I use tool? I want to know what's the command for cmd.
Example: To make .map files you would use tool build-cache-file levels\ etc.

you will always use tool to make things (E.G. bitmaps) for halo ce. when you type " tool build-cache-file [pathtolevel]" you will tell to tool to make cache (.map) file. if you type "tool" to cmd, it will list all commands (for tool). if you would like to make bitmaps you would type "tool bitmaps bitmaps levels\test\tutorial\bitmaps" to cmd this bitmap extractor should workEdited by afD2345 on Jan 2, 2013 at 03:50 PM

I already extracted the files. I saved the image as a tiff. Now I'm trying to export the file in tool but unfortunately it won't work. How will I know if it is actually making the bitmap file? how long does it take? http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/3746/masterchiefvisor3.png this is the file I'm trying to export. If I can't do it. Can anybody export it as a bitmap?

the bitmap's size must be power of 2 dimension. and this is how you know that tool is making bitmap(error(s) is (are) in red: Micro$oft Windows [Version 6.1.7601] Copyright (c) 2009 Micro$oft Corporation. All rights reserved.
C:\Program Files\Micro$oft Games\Halo Custom Edition>tool bitmaps new Couldn't read map file './toolbeta.map' ### wutisthis.tif ==> !!WARNING!! bitmap with greater than 1-bit alpha being compressed as DXT1 <= = skipping bitmap with non-power-of-two dimensions (#800x#800#1)
C:\Program Files\Micro$oft Games\Halo Custom Edition> folder called "new" is in data folder and tool will create folder called "new" into tags folder. and what program did you use to edit the bitmap? if you used (micro$oft) paint, then that is the problem. you should get GIMP (better) or paint.net(more easy to use)Edited by afD2345 on Jan 3, 2013 at 05:07 AMEdited by afD2345 on Jan 3, 2013 at 05:09 AM

I used gimp of course. I know this might sound weird.... but if I can't do a favor can you make the bitmap and send it to me? From my basic bitmap knowledge I can assume that it might not be that hard to export it as a bitmap file
