Usually OS doens't work with xFire. They announced this issue would be solved in the near future though.

Why?

With the next release, there's no real valid reason not to use OS. (Well, players perhaps might be a slightly valid reason but they can be informed about OS easily, especially in the RP community)

My PM box and Xfire is always open to anyone who needs help or has questions about OS. Don't hesitate if you have questions.

Though .Yelo works just fine, my copy of Halo: CE won't work online, though my Key SHOULD be valid. I hope the new server thing fixes that, I think the check is Server-side, bit i wouldn't know. I don't know if my CE is used or not, got it as a gift. My buddy doesn't remember. I don't have the box anymore either and I can't find the key I wrote down. I have it somewhere, I might have to use one of those Redeemer things that finds your key. :s worked on my last laptop.

If you disable all of the visual upgrade features, OS puts no extra pressure on your PC.

And besides, anyone who has a computer that can't even run Halo with a few postprocessing effects needs to upgrade. Most in the RP community recognise this and have upgraded.

Most RP community members do have decent computers. Perhaps not kick ass, but you don't need a kick ass computer to run OS, contrary to popular belief.

And it would be a brilliant boost on OpsY's part. He'd have a ton more space to work with and some more gameplay features and he could implement a fancy OS gimmick or two to get more people to download the map. (Yes, 'gimmick' usually spells 'pointless'(Uh... somehow. I can spell, okay!) but in this case it would be a great advertising method)

My computer cost about $700 dollars. Runs T&R perfectly, with all visual addons and the highest graphics I can get. Not an amazing computer.

Then upgrade.

Nobody's planning to wait around until you do so I suggest you do it as soon as you can. RP mappers like OpsY don't really have the need to wait around for the few people who still have weak computers to upgrade.

Jaz, OpsY's main thing is to make the map universally available to all, which usually means no OS. A million times over, i've seen people who cant run OS, for various reasons, so just cut it out.

That should go for all of you, OpsY isnt making RPG_Beta7 OS supported, and any future installments is completely upto him, end of story.

Thanks Sniper. As he said, RPG_Beta7 is meant to be easy to access to everyone. Again, further maps may or may not use OS. I'll have to look into OS, see if everyone (or enough people) can use OS and then, look for it. There's nothing else "Ready" to release that soon.

Sounds amazing so far! My friends and I had hours and hours and hours of fun on RPG_beta6_2, and I have extremely high hopes for this map. I'm hoping that we can get it around Christmas, but I can understand if you need more time.

i cant afford a new computer and im not going to bye a new conputer whisper: JUST FOR USE OPEN SAUCE! >.> i hope he includes the life pod and the lock down

I'm sure whatever loss of people you see who "can't run" the now almost year old build of OS, will be far less then the people who will be able to enjoy it online with all 4 versions of CE unified. I see between 3000-4000 people online to play with every time I boot CE. It's amazing.

Unless you figure a magic method to keep Halo CE from gather exception data every time someone runs Halo CE,I don't think that will happen.

That magic method has been waiting for you to sign on xfire for like 2 months now. You can't bitch about OS not running properly for you when you don't even reply to those trying to fix it for you.

R39/M16, it seems that all you do is go around saying that you know many people who can't run OS. It's sad really, when there are both the devs, and others willing to help out, and you just ignore them.

(sorry, had to say that... -and just for the records, some of us can't use it because of the CD key problem. There's only who-knows-how-many-left amount of key codes left, so it'd be great if there's a way to circumvent that problem. Thanks.)

You can buy legit CD keys from the HaloRank website.

I can run os just fine without any problems. I had no trouble installing it.

OS doesn't care if you don't have a legal CE key, the install works anyway.

Really? I tried to install it on my computer, and the install refused to install it (apparently, because of that...)

^ This was back in v3.0.1. Did that change since last August?
